We had been jokingly looking at fast food restaurants in Italy last night, but it actually turned out to be quite useful!

Everywhere in Venice is expensive, and there is nowhere to sit and rest without paying for over-priced food. McDonald's is a much better choice! There is plenty of seating inside and out, and it is relatively cool inside but it seemed like the air conditioning either didn't exist or wasn't working well. The self-service screens are the same as in the UK and there is an option to select English, so there is no need to try to overcome the language barrier.

As is usual with a McDonald's back home, it is kept clean and tidy.

We only ordered drinks, as we already had eaten a packed lunch. The coffees tasted as expected, but the milkshakes were a bit different. They were much less thick (easier to drink) and even tasted a bit better then a British McDonald's. It would have been interesting to see how the food tasted. McDonald's tend to change recipes in different countries to suit the tastes of the country, so I'm sure it would be different, maybe...

We were exhausted and starving after a long day of traveling, so we decided to treat ourselves with two Gran Crispy McMenu meals for takeaway. However, to our shock, one of the meals was missing the burger entirely and instead contained four Chicken McNuggets, which we never ordered.

We also ordered a Gran Crispy McBacon Chicken meal and a hot milk, and while the rest of the order was correct, this major mistake meant one of us didn’t get dinner at all. You can imagine how upsetting that is when you’re hungry, tired, and just looking for something simple.

What’s worse — we tried to call the restaurant immediately to resolve the issue, but they hung up on us. After that, their phone line became completely unreachable, making it impossible to even have a conversation.

This is not only unprofessional, but also deeply disappointing. We paid for something and didn’t receive it, and there was zero accountability or willingness to fix it. I hope the management seriously reflects on their customer...
