Shameful treatment of the waiter. Me and my girlfriend were not sure what we wanted to have. I might have gone for some appetizers and my girlfriend for a full meal. So they asked us to sit outside at a table without a cloth. No problem there. Then the waiter, young guy with a mustache showed us the menu on the table with the appetizer (chichetti). On the other side of the menu there was a small promotion, 3 Appetizers+ 1 drink for 10€. So we naturally asked the waiter if we could have that. He said no. No reasons given, a simple no. And we asked why, is there a time that promotion starts?… The waiter simply pulled the menu from my girlfriend’s hand and said, “-now you have no menu, forget it”
Now, I totally understand that restaurants (or whatever you wanna call yourself) have different policies for what to serve at what time. We get it.
But we decided to get up and leave. Funny thing though, the waiter looked surprised that we stood up to leave…
But that was just astonishing how some people treat possible customers here in Venice. Unfortunately another example of a unnecessary sense of superiority and despise of tourists/customers in Venice.
I’m sure the owner will answer below saying that we understood it differently and we are actually overreacting, sorry, stop the BS 😉
I’m glad your worker can speak 5 languages, that is really impressive. Unfortunately he lacked respect and patience with customers.
Just assume that you’re just not able to find good people and that you (owner and employees) sometimes is just tired of being nice with tourists. (Which really is funny/sad, because this is all you have and need…) A pity. And sometimes sorry would be enough, but I guess you’re too...
Read moreMade me throw up don't eat seafood in this place. It was my first and only meal of the day so it could not have been anywhere else. I ordered a cicetti or appetizer platter that contained seafood and also a main dish pasta with clams & calamari. Something was bad in it. Find another place to eat you will do your stomach a favor. Followup & reply to Owner: As you can see from this owner's replies to any bad reviews, his consistent policy is to deny, deny, deny. And I see that he now did that with my review. So I will go up and take a picture of my receipt and post it for this man with unfortunate habits.
From my receipt you can see that I ordered that he denied he had on his menu: was "Piatto cicchetti" sorry for my misspelling above but this owner is not interested in the truth or in checking his refrigerators' temperature or improving his processes / solving the problem as I'd hoped: only denying that he has a problem! Receipt attached below from our meal there June 7th. Since this "character" opposes improving I would aimed my comments and say just to avoid this...

We stumbled across this place just looking for a drink and maybe some snacks—but ended up staying for dinner and even came back the next night. It was that good!!!
Armen, Marco, and Manuel were amazing! so friendly and welcoming. They really took the time to walk us through the menu and make some great suggestions, which we appreciated since we weren’t familiar with everything.
The menu changes often, but while we were there, we had the fish of the day (which came with a fun little show as Manuel deboned it at the table!) and the lobster ravioli, which was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I would do anything to have it again!
Even if you’re just popping in for a drink or aperitivo, it’s 100% worth it. We’d go back in a second!
Oh and the air...
