While pastries look appetizing in the window, don't be fooled by how busy this place gets - it's mostly tourists with cameras taking pictures.
We made the mistake of getting apple strudel, sacker cake, pistachio cannoli, prawn skewers and a slice of pizza - they were absolutely disgusting. Ended up feeding most of the pastry to the pigeons since even the seagulls felt eating this garbage was beneath them.
Pistachio cannoli - dry, stale shell, sickly sweet filling with no actual taste to it, just an overdose of sugar. Sacker cake - this was the best of the lot, the apricot jam made it somewhat a bit bearable, still couldn't finish one slice between the two of us (and it's tiny to begin with). Apple strudel - super artificial sweetener aftertaste, almost bitter. Why on earth would they put the prawn skewers in the MICROWAVE of all places after purchase? Pizza - straight up trash.
I would highly recommend you...

About the place: We made a trip around Europe and this is the only place that was misleading. They advertise the pizza as shown in the image (Pizza Zingara; 100 g € 1,60). If you're not familiar with this, they are stating each 100g of pizza will cost you 1,60EUR, not that the slice weights 100g and will cost you 1,60EUR, which is what we thought. They don't even weight it before they charge you. The total per slice is somewhere around 3,6EUR (we asked for three completely different varieties). If you're on a budget, like we were, or don't want to endorse thieves, skip this place completely. We found several other places in Venice that don't use scam tactics to take advantage of the tourist
About the pizza: It was tasty, but not good enough for the price. Also the three slices we ordered were cold, but we were too mad to even ask for...
Read moreUsually we buy desserts and sweets in our favourite bakery/pasticceria in Venice: Dal Mas. But Rizzo has some good-looking (mini-)cakes that looked worth trying.
So we bought some pistachio cake, a tiramisu (shaped like a swiss-roll) and an almond cake. Service was quick, prices fair.
The Tiramisu was pretty good, th pastachio cake quite excellent. The Almond cake on the other hand was a bit of a let-down. Soaked in sirup a bit too much for our taste and lacked a bit of almond flavour - despite being an actual almond cake.
But two out of three is still solid. Pizza looked very good as well, something we'll try next time. But for sweets and cakes we still will probably stick to our favourite...
