We really chanced upon this place for dinner as we parked right in front of it - it was night and we couldn't make much about the place from the entrance. We were just glad to see an air conditioned place. There was no one else there as it was low season and hardly any tourists around. But once we went inside, we were delighted by a culinary experience. It turned out to be an exquisite gourmet dining experience.
Our server was delightful, friendly and kept us entertained and fed (even kept the kids entertained). The drinks were nice and the food was delicious and presented with flair (see pics attached). This place would beat some of the high end places in NYC of San Francisco both in terms of quality and taste. And it is fairly reasonably priced (You'd probably pay 4-5x for a similar meal stateside). The cuisine is Mexican and International fusion (with a little molecular gastronomy)
The mole dishes were amazing, so were all the sauces. I had the Duck Mole and the chef prepared a special vegetarian mole and vegetarian tacos for the veggies in our party. The chef came out to meet and greet us too which was a nice touch. The breads were made fresh at the bakery on site and was nice and warm. The desserts were a fantastic topping to an already great meal. Every single dessert we had was amazing in its own way (we were told the chef gets cocoa beans and makes his own chocolate). Overall an experience...
Read moreSo was down in San Jose del Cabo for a work trip. We were staying in an All-inclusive resort, but the food wasn't that great. We headed downtown and found Casa San Jose. The first night it was pretty dead but the staff there was great. We talked to Julio for a while and decided we would try it again the next evening. Got a group of 12 of us and headed back. All I wanted to try was the Ribeye (450 grams, 1Lb). It was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly (I like mine Medium) and served on some beans & pucetta. It was a great combination. For an appetizer, we had the guacamole and the Poke. Both awesome!!
San Jose del Cabo is a great little town to go that is very low key and a cute little town. And Casa San Jose 23400, should definitely be on the list...
Read moreWOW. They are in the same location as the old "Morgan's" but it is definitely not the same experience. This is art, though not in a pretentious way. The food is creative and deliscous too. Service was simple and not hovering over each guest like many of the fine dining spots in Los Cabos. A truly...
