Garage Coffee & Bar — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

We came for a beer/margarita and some nachos! The service was terrible, but we were patient as they seemed to be very busy. We had to call someone over to order a few times. Eventually we got one margarita but no beer… when the nachos finally arrived it was just a soaked through mess. After asking for the check and no one coming back, we went to the bar to pay our check. I wanted to pay with my local bank card and was handed the machine. They ask me what tip I wanted to enter and I ask for the machine to enter the amount myself. This is were I noticed them charging me the peso amount in USD. I ask them why they were charging me in USD, especially since my payment card is Mexican and they quickly took the machine from me and cancelled the transaction. I payed in cash and left. I will...

Ceviche was great. Steak tacos not recommended (just no seasoning on meat and no toppings other than a whole grilled onion that is part of the dish, had to actually spit them out, sorry). Atmosphere is quite nice. Service was actually great, until our waiter started lecturing me about the gratuity and insisting I give him cash while emphasizing that although gratuity was included in the total on receipt, that was only for the kitchen staff and hence needed a different tip for himself. Visité este lugar con mi familia, pedimos algunas cervezas y tritones pero todo lo que se pedía no lo tenían; preguntamos ¿bueno, y qué si tienen? Nos dieron cerveza clara diciendo que de esa si tenían mucha, pero al segundo pedido ya no tenían, así que terminaron dándonos lo que quisieron🙄 Comimos algo y decidimos retirarnos, no era la primera vez que íbamos y acostumbramos a siempre dejar 15% de propina, pero estábamos molestos así que solo dejaríamos el 10. Al traernos la cuenta nos exigieron 15% a pesar de su pobre servicio, se pusieron altaneros y no nos dejaron in hasta que les diéramos lo que exigían. Decidí darles otra oportunidad y fui con mi novio y unos amigos porque no había otro lugar abierto en el centro de San José. No tenían mucha gente y aún así se demoraron más de 15 minutos en que alguien se acercara a la mesa y 15 minutos en llevarnos un triste tritón.
