I don’t normally leave bad reviews but here I am… waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to get my food. The place was not full there was only 3 tables being served and one left right when we got there because they were already waiting for a while.
The food was not good. I received my plate with steak, rice, beans, guacamole, but didn’t have guacamole. That was fine. When I was a bout to start eating the rice i noticed it was sticky and transparent. I tasted it and it was raw and sticky. I let the waiter know that the rice was raw and she offered to take it off my plate. I wanted rice so I asked if they can just give me a bit of rice when it was done cooking. She went to the back for a while and came back to tell me that the rice isn’t raw and that is the style of the rice. The rice is the same rice that is on the pictures of other reviews on here except mine didn’t look like that. It literally looked transparent and gooey. I was so hungry I ate the rice and sure enough it made me sick. Please be careful when going there. It is also overpriced for the quality and portion of food.
I really wanted to love this places. We got two dishes and two side soups for $730 MX Pesos.
The only thing that was good are the hand...
Read moreAdelita’s is a welcome departure from the overpriced, tourist oriented restaurants that are prevalent in downtown San Jose and Cabo. The menu is different every day and the prices are not posted. Everything is made fresh in house. The restaurant is small, bright and cheerful. The owner, Guadalupe, who is absolutely charming, is also the cook and bar tender, and she had one helper when we were there. The hibiscus Margarita I ordered was absolutely delicious made with her house made hibiscus juice. I had Carne Asada and my wife had chicken fajitas, both of which were excellent. With two entrees and four drinks the bill was 960 pesos or about $55US. We were very satisfied with everything. To the other reviewers who complained about slow service or the menu or the decorations I would suggest remembering you’re in MEXICO, not New York or San Francisco. RELAX, get to know the owner, and enjoy...

The decor is very nice and everything was clean.
Our server Guadalupe was so very sweet and helpful!!
Once seated we were brought fresh salsa and pico with chips. We ordered two beers and hibiscus margarita. Carne con queso nachos and guacamole as well as the adelita special.
Everything was amazing! The guacamole was so fresh and hit the spot. We didn’t realize the nachos came with guacamole as well so freaking good. The special was 2 enchiladas, 2 crispy taco, flank steak, chili relleno and rice and beans. The chicken enchiladas were my favorite but the entire meal was excellent.
We are definitely going back. They have breakfast so I’m sure I’ll be updating this...
