PLEASE READ! I am Rating this 5 star because you need to know how just un-5-Star this place is!
Will never give this business my service ever again. VERY, VERY unprofessional, and that’s putting it nicely…
We sat down for our dinner and ordered the empanadas that the waiter suggest for us. Which never came until we finally mentioned it to our waiter once our party’s main meals were at our table. I ordered the pork ribs which was supposed to be made with a pineapple habanero marinade(WHICH WAS NOT!). Long story short… Our Server did not remember to put in my correct order and INSTEAD brought me out a more expensive meal that I didn’t order… after making this known and correcting the error, it took another 25/30 mins to finally receive my “correct order”(which it still wasn’t). The empanadas came out 5 mins before actual main order came out… our entire party had already eaten their meals and here I was only able to fill up on French fries that they miraculously got correct.
The best (worst) part was the manager knew we had been having a bad experience because she asked us if we were doing okay a couple times…Finally the last time she asked (and after a lot of patience) I said no… I had pulled her aside to let her know our experience (because she asked.) I told her I have been waiting for my main meal for almost 45 mins and was getting a bit aggravated and I would like for her to make it right…. She hesitantly agreed and left our table.
My meal FINALLY came out and like I said before, the meal (still incorrect) was just ribs cooked, no marinade, no pineapple, nothing except 2 little potato wedges with something of coleslaw along with it…. Rather than asking me how they could make it right they instead decided to bring our party out VERY bad drinks that we didn’t want… when I had suggested that we don’t want the drinks, but we would like to have my meal comped because They got it wrong Made me wait almost an hour By the time the meal came out, STILL GOT IT WRONG! The manager became petty and said “if we take the meal off your check then we will take your meal away from you…” Which I had already eaten a little bit of… (Can’t confirm this officially, but I believe they took it back to the kitchen and I saw them Re-Plating it to be resold… I hope they wouldn’t resell my meal after taking it away from me… I hope to God they didn’t especially being Conscious about sanitary practice let alone Covid reasons, but who’s to really know.)
Overall, more than just my horrible experience here with inexperienced people, I would never suggest or want to give my service ever again to a place that potentially puts their customers SAFETY below their quality control… this was the core principle for me.:/
My advice to anyone visiting Cabo is DO NOT DINE HERE… Their service is ALL over the place, the manager doesn’t know what she is doing and should not be helping run this restaurant, and I fear for someone’s loved one potentially eating here without conclusive knowledge of a core value of “sanitary practice”. It is very unfortunate that Cabo has people like this who do not care about their paying customers satisfaction or potentially their health.
Would never recommend this restaurant. Give your hard earned dollars to another place that...
Read moreThey explicitly ask for 15% tip at the very least!
This is the first restaurant ever I've eaten at where they ask for more tips than you want to give. I've gone to this place three times now and knew already it was an expensive but tasty restaurant. It ends up being expensive because of the amount of food you get for what you're paying for.
However, my last visit was surprising when I was paying the bill, and the waiter asked me if I wanted to leave 15% tips instead of the 10% I was willing to give. I mean, he was quite insistent, he asked twice since I said no the first time! Is this a good or bad thing? For me it was bad thing, and a very unpleasant moment.
I always give a tip of 10%, no matter the place, no matter the service. I know: this is a controversial subject where you never know how much is too low or too high, regardless of the local customary.
This whole thing made me re-think again: Why should we always leave tips at restaurants? Why don't we give tips at the car wash, at retail shops, when you buy an tire or when you buy a TV?
Tips were supposed to be something extra, an non-mandatory additional monetary reward for an outstanding service, but its purpose has turned more into a obligation nowadays and restaurant owners have been taking advantage of it to pay their staff less.
At work, I do my best and don't get tips, Should I?
The core issue here is that waiters/waitress/cooks/staff don't earn enough at restaurants because restaurant owners don't pay enough, and they make the diners accountable for it by asking to pay 15%/20% more on top of the bill.
In short: Choriarte's owners - Pay your staff more so they don't have the need for asking diners for more tips.
Needless to say I won't recommend this place as...
Read moreWe did not get to experience the food at Choriarte but did experience the poor customer service provided by the management and wait staff.
After over an hour of waiting, we were told by the waiter that they longer had the dish that I ordered (which was the 2nd option that they no longer had available on menu). I did not want to order another option from the menu, so my husband asked them to cancel his order also. In response to this, the manager first begged my husband to reconsider, since they had "allegedly" already started on his meal. My husband insisted that he did not want to proceed with his order. The manager/owner got very unprofessional. He rolled his eyes at us and became visibly upset when we insisted on cancelling my husband's meal. We left the restaurant but the rest of our party remained. About thirty minutes later, the group that had initially remained at the restaurant called us and let us know they had also left Choriarte because they still hadn't started their meals - and they definitely hadn't started on my husband's meal either!
I would give 4* for ambiance/vibe because of live band was grooving.. but management and professionalism of...
