The food was okay but it was nothing special. Again, we felt that the meat could have used more flavoring. We ordered the taquera hot plate because it had a lot of variety and also added two small sides of Spanish rice.
The Spanish rice was good and so were the quesadillas. Everything else was mediocre. The al pastor was very dry. The steak was chewy but not much flavoring. It wasn't even grilled or charred for flavor. The chorizo was red and very very soft, not like American chorizo which is hard like a bratswurst. The chorizo was more similar to a hot dog texture. The deep fried beans was good and its hard to mess up guac and Pico de Gallo, so those were also decent. Overall the dish was edible but we didn't find it worth the money and it wasn't anything that blew us away.
The only thing we really enjoyed were the horchatas! They were so tasty with lots of cinnamon on top.
Service was also good and our servers all attentive. Covid restrictions are still in place so if you are a tourist make sure you bring your mask, use the hand sanitizer, and then place your forehead to the temp probe...
Read moreI’m not so sure about this place yeah it has definitely an authentic Mexican feel as far as the appearance in the interior however, eating here seems a little awkward first of all if you sit near the front entry, be prepared to be stared down by all of the eagles That are the staff watching you eat it’s rather uncomfortable. I know they are doing their job but at the same time they need to go somewhere else out of your eyesight let’s talk about the food. The food is extremely mediocre both myself and my family are very dissatisfied. The fruit was pathetic. on the menu it displays watermelons instead you get chewy melon as well as some type of white unknown cream sauce that is supposed to resemble yogurt but instead it taste like Elmers glue. if you’re looking for a authentic Mexican restaurant, I think the taco stand down the street would be a much better option as opposed to coming to this overpriced establishment that offers no value...
Read moreMy family and I are here 3 out of 6 nights we spent in La Paz. By far, our favorite restaurant. The food was excellent. Everything we tried was delicious. The Hibiscus Margarita's were delicious. We had the same server, Alfonso, all 3 nights. He is a great server, and an even better person. He gave us many suggestions both for dinner and other places to try in La Paz. He also was great with our 9 year old son. The prices seemed very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food and drinks. They have English menus, and the ice and water is purified. Just know ahead of time, this isn't a Taco hole in the wall. They don't even serve Tacos de Pescado. Instead, it's a beautiful, air conditioned restaurant with great food and service. I have found the best food is off the Malecon..this place...
