Semillon! My family and I were BLOWN AWAY by this place. From the drinks to dessert, everything was absolutely incredible. The nice young man in a dark blue linen shirt (didn’t catch his name, but he was so sweet and kind and helpful) gave us a our of the property after we got our first drinks from the bar. We also got to meet the chef, Javier. He was such a nice and down to earth human. We got the Magnolia Cocktail and the Montana Cocktail. The Magnolia is now my favorite drink I’ve ever had and the family agrees. For appetizers, we got the Beef Tartar, Esquites, Cauliflower Hummus and the Abalone. EXQUISITE. For dinner, we had all the different tacos, the cowboy steak and the catch of the day (soul fish). Again, EXCEPTIONAL. The dessert, omg - so good. We got the chocolate decadence, passion fruit / strawberry pavlova, and the passion fruit panna cotta. I’ve had the privilege of eating at many different amazing 5 star restaurants all over the world…I think Semillon is in my Top 3. Our waiter, Jacobo/Jacob was so kind, helpful, and easy to talk to. We even got to chat a little bit with him and he’s a wonderful guy, such a pleasure meeting him. Diana and Jose were quick to be grab our glasses, our plates, and clear the table. To say the service was exceptional is an understatement. My family and I do an annual Cabo trip and Semillon will be the first and last stop of the trip! So so so amazing and couldn’t recommend it more. It’s a whole vibe and experience. Thank you to everyone who made our visit there a blast! Can’t wait to see you all again! Muchísimas...
Read moreI had an unreal experience at Semillon! It's set in a beautiful location surrounded by thriving gardens and palm trees as you walk along the path to enter. The Guamúchil Bar greets you as you arrive and you should definitely stop there for a drink before dinner. Anny Barrera is the head bartender and has built a beautiful cocktail menu made from fresh ingredients from the gardens - we had the Montana, French 69, and Magnolia that were all fresh and delicious. I requested her version of a martini and she made me an impeccable tequila martini that was so clean and smooth I now might have converted from gin martinis. Anny was a highlight to our evening, sharing her time to show us the gardens with her joyous personality. The food from Chef Javier Plasencia was incredible too - highlights included the Ensenada Tostada, Tacos de Boreggo, Tetela, Mushroom and Garlic Barbacoa, Corn cakes, and the roasted strawberry ice cream. Every bite was out of this world. Our waiter Jacobo was so kind and friendly. He explained every dish in detail and shared his recommendations for other places in Mexico for us to visit. Every member of staff was welcoming and helpful. Semillon is a new restaurant, opening about 6 months ago. As much as I'd like it to remain a little secret, good things are made to be shared. I will definitely be returning here on my next trip and...
Read morePhenomenal ambience, service and food. Really special place. If you get a chance to visit, be sure to walk around the grounds. There is a separate bar and fireside seating area, cool restrooms, and some farm animals.
Update: We went back a second time to share with our extended family of ten and celebrate birthdays. They had rented out the grounds for a reality TV show filming. No one mentioned this when we made the reservation. It was very loud and a completely different atmosphere. The hostess and head bartender were both apologetic. Our server seemed quite distracted, which was a complete contrast from the attentiveness of our prior server. And my mom's expensive cowboy steak was grisly and nearly inedible. Since our server didn't ask how everything was, and food came out slowly, and also my mother being who she is, she just did her best to get through it. We decided to celebrate birthdays on another night. Once the filming supplies, the restaurant returned to being its magical self and I felt like we had leveled up again.
I really want this restaurant to make it! We will be back in spite...
