I came to San Jose Del Cabo to assist with a friend who was getting a complete set of dentures. In the interim time between getting all his teeth extracted and getting his temporary dentures fitted he was left with no teeth. While visiting the arts district for the third time we happened upon TaCoaźon. The place was empty however the owners welcomed us in. We were on the fence on whether to stay because our friend had no teeth and wouldn’t be able to eat anything hard. Upon hearing his predicament, the mother of the family that not only run the restaurant but lives on premises, said that they could prepare a special meal specifically for my friend so that he could enjoy the meal, we stayed.
We regret nothing.
It was such an amazing, authentic, and well prepared meal. The son had recently celebrated his sixth birthday, and was as gracious a host as his mother. Father prepared the meal and it was second to none. English was easily spoken and understood, and the family was as grateful to have us there as we were to be hosted.
If you want a meal as if you were invited into a family’s home (because you essentially are) at a good price dine here. I don’t know when I’ll be back in this area of the world again but I will never forget the simply heartwarming feeling of...

During our time in San José, we walked through Old Town countless times. Many of the restaurants clearly cater to tourists—complete with higher prices to match. As avid eaters who love smaller, less touristy spots where the food is made with the heart, we were so happy to discover this place.
The first thing that caught our eye was the heart around the restaurant’s name and a menu with truly affordable prices. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warmth—and that hospitality lasted throughout the entire meal.
The food was excellent, and they assured us everything was made fresh and to order. I loved the spicy salsa that came with the chips they brought to start. Everyone left feeling full, happy, and truly satisfied—the kind of feeling you only get when you really love everything about...
Read moreA must, especially if you are vegan! We ate here three days, and would’ve eaten here one more but they were completely full today!
I didn’t catch the names of the owners, but they were so welcoming and skilled in the kitchen. Everything felt homemade and cooked with love.
I’m vegan and they were able to modify numerous dishes cooked right in front of us to order. I’ll still be thinking about the sopas and the enchiladas when I go home. From the first meal, I felt so welcome and the wife’s smile just said that they are living the dream owning a restaurant. The food was great and making friends here was really a highlight of this trip!
Photos are kind of blurry but they’re huevos rancheros and vegan enchiladas in red sauce for breakfast on...
