Great place right on the malecon! Sidewalk seating for Live music & chilling or upstairs seating for watching sports and checking out the amazing panoramic 180 degree view Sea of Cortez. A nice selection of ice cold beers, a full bar with top shelf booze at 'working man's' prices.

Very clean place, with friendly, attentive staff and a simple, yet well rounded choice of affordably priced meals. I recommend trying one of the seafood options available or the carne asada tacos. Yum!

If you are a fisherman, this is your place! Jonathan and Jilly are well known and respected in the Baja community. They own the restaurant and also operate a great fishing network of panga's they can hook you up with. They will even cook your fresh catch for you and provide all the amazing fixin's without breaking the bank! ...And the food is killer! The menu also includes a number of ultra simple stuff for kids or folks that just want a good ol' cheese burger. Stop wondering...

Visited Tailhunter Restaurant 6 times during our weeklong visit in La Paz, absolutely can’t say enough good things about it! The chef is happy to cook your catch any way you want it! My companions and I took full advantage of that offer and tried all different ways! Jonathan (owner) even shared his Beer Batter recipe with us!

I’m more of a traditionalist and eating fish isn’t my favorite, but I had some of the best hamburgers here that I’ve ever eaten! Breakfast was just as good as dinner too. My friends that I was there fishing with said the fresh days’ catch was unfailingly delicious.

Almost as important as the food, the service was stellar - everyone on the staff took care of us like we were the only customers. Customer service at its finest. Jonathan even joined us for tequila shots “on the house!”

Looking forward to a return trip, knowing it will be...

What a great service. You go fishing all day and when you get back to shore you get to pick which fish you caught you want to eat for dinner and they fix it for you that evening. Start your evening by relaxing for a short while on the sandy beach, having a drink and then head to the restaurant. Once you arrive at the restaurant they have 8-10 different recipes of ways you can have your Catch of the Day fixed. And the fish are so large you can usually get them prepared a couple different ways! All of them were delicious. We ate hear every night except for one (and that's because they were closed). My husband's favorite was the salsa verde with Pargo and mine was the coconut battered fish with the Dorado. Such a great time and Jonathan and Jilly are wonderful hosts and all their staff is friendly and helpful. We can't...

The first night we got to La Paz we were so overwhelmed with dining options and finally settled on a reviewed and recommended place called Tailhunter Sea Level. The grilled shrimp taco was pretty much the best shrimp taco I had the entire trip! The fish taco was maybe the worst! which was a bummer because it was massive. We had to add salt and citrus to the guacamole and the margaritas were lip smacking delicious, so let’s just say “Mixed Reviews.” We knew better than to eat at overpriced touristy places right on the water but we were looking for something a bit grand and luxurious and in the action (although many of the absolutely beautiful restaurants stayed empty).

A great spot for enjoying a cocktail and the La Paz Bay malecon view. Skip the sidewalk tables and go upstairs. There’s a row of seats along the front rail of the palapa. The guacamole was fresh though a little bland. Just ask for some salsa, salt and extra limes and you’re good to go. Very tasty chips. Excellent service. The mezcalita was good but quite weak. I don’t mind going light on the alcohol, but I know I’m in the minority on that. Margarita was a bit stronger. Looking forward to more afternoon stops here on calm days. I can see it being unpleasant on a very windy day.

Jonathan and his staff were amazing and super nice! We went fishing earlier that day with Tailhunter and caught dorado that was then offered to be cooked at the restaurant later that night. This was a 5 star experience! We were served our dorado 3 ways: ceviche, beer battered, and garlic butter, along with plenty of sides to go with it and delicious tortillas. Not to mention the drinks are fantastic! 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting La Paz.
