After a first reservation, we contacted the host to change the date as we made a mistake of booking 1 day earlier than planned. The change had been confirmed. On the day of arrival, everything was very confusing, from entering the property to contacting the host. Once we contacted him again, he hardly answered. We understood that there was a problem with our reservation. Therefore, we booked another room (paying again) so we could stay at the hotel. However only After 4 hours, 22 calls, 3 emails and 6 WhatsApp messages, we were told that the hotel was full and that they did not have our reservation. We were left at 9pm without a place to sleep even though we had booked, payed and confirmed the hotel. This is truely unacceptable. Not only the problem was relating the reservation but the lack of communication. Many times we saw that the host was online when we were contacting him but did not answer. After this incident we were expecting to get our money back or get to stay at the hotel the day after as there was availability. The host told us that there was availability and that our room was ready for us. This was told at 11am. We contacted him multiple times to know when to come and only at 4:30pm he got back to us telling us that they had a problem with the cleaning of the room and therefore no rooms was ready for us. Unacceptable. Now we have payed twice 109$ for two nights at the hotel that we never stayed at, additionally to that had to wait the whole day to know what to do following up to the lack of communication with the host.

We reserved a room and prepaid it in full in early December for the end of February. Five days before our trip I called just to make sure everything was OK, I thought it would just be a formality, just in case. The person that answered would not confirm that things were OK and said she would need to call me back within two hours. Two hours came and went without a call, so I called back and again and again and now they refused to answer the phone, presumably because they saw my caller ID. I called again the next morning and they would not take the call (seven attempts). I sent a Whatsapp message and finally I got a message back that they were sorry but that they had overbooked and, well too bad, you are out of luck.
I said I was flying out the following Wednesday and wanted to know when they planned to tell me, they said "probably Monday, for sure." Very comforting to fly to a place where you have taken the care to reserve and prepay almost three months in advance for them to treat you this way. This has got to be the most irresponsible hotel I have ever encountered. There was a major event in La Paz the weekend I was there and everything was by then sold out. I was lucky enough to find a very nice room at the very comfortable and less expensive Hotel Catedral, but the experience I had with Casa Bo will never be forgotten and I think it is only fair to warn travelers to avoid that place like the plague. Read moreHorrible place! Do not stay here. Bed bugs, unclean sheets, ants all other, and a terrible property manager. Ripping off their customers for $250 a night in La Paz when other beautiful hotels and airbnbs in the area are half the price. The place doesn’t look like the photos, poor finishing, cheap decor, not luxurious at all.
We arrived at 6 pm exhausted and checked in to a dirty and uncleaned room, there was nobody at the front desk for 2 hours, couldn’t get ahold of them to clean it. Other people dirty silverware left behind in the kitchen, food on the floor, bugs everywhere. We had to leave and go find a hotel down the road, I texted the manager and just asked for them to refund our $270 (insane cost for 1 night) and she refused to give us our money back.
Stay somewhere else. This is a trendy ripoff with cheap furniture...
