I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this place earned it. We stopped by Mariscos Los Laureles on the Malecón in La Paz, thinking the amazing view meant we were in for a treat. Nope. Total letdown. The service? Meh. The food? Honestly, AWFUL!!!! Our fish and shrimp were drowning in what tasted like old, overused oil. And I love garlic, like, really love it, but this was way over the top. It was so strong and off-putting it completely killed the dish. We both felt sick after. And the prices? You’d think we were dining oceanfront in California, not Mexico. Way too expensive for what felt like reheated fryer scraps. It’s a classic tourist trap: beautiful location, bad food, overpriced, and zero soul. Save your pesos and your stomach grab a drink somewhere else and enjoy the view...

We found this place by Google and gave it a try, The food was good, can't complain there, the service was deplorable! We weren't welcome, chips weren't offered to us (two other tables that got there right after us got their chips right away, when we complaint they never apologize... Guys, this place is a gold mine like I said before the food is really good but you have to treat everyone the same way! You are on the serving business, everyone that's consumes at your place pays your paycheck! Just be polite, welcoming and apologetic to your customers. The actual place wasn't in the best shape, water and debris on the sales floor, at first the table we tried to sit on was dirty; I can't rate the kitchen area but usually the condition matches up to the front of...

Came back for seconds after trying all the other Mariscos in town. This was our first stop for lunch while on vacation and our last stop before leaving la paz. We ordered the fried red snapper (twice) and the octopus in butter (twice) because they were so delicious the first time were had to eat them again. I also ordered oysters, mixed seafood soup, tuna sashimi, and ceviche. All were delicious in there own regard. The only downfall was everything was covered in freshly sliced red onions and my body does not tolerate onions well, but that's a personal allergic and should have known better when ordering you request them too leave them off all of the items. Can't wait to come back and eat here again for our next vacation, until then I'll be dreaming of you...

The restaurant is situated on the malecon, with a great view. Definitely a nice place for people watching and experience the great boardwalk. Having said that, we were quite disappointed with our dining experience. Not sure if they were short on staffing or what, but the service was very slow. The food, with the exception of the soup, were all very average and bland. The weather felt hotter than the dishes we got. Also, we asked about many of the dishes that people posted in reviews and those were non-existent (oysters, clam).

A seafood joint crowded with lots of locals is always a good sign. I tried the grilled shrimp and they were done to perfection. Paired with rice, steamed veggies and an exquisite potato salad, this was a true meal to die for. On another day, I tried the shrimp sautéed in butter. Pro tip: squeeze a bit of freshly sliced lime on each shrimp for a true taste sensation. In a blind taste test I would have said I was eating Maine lobster. Highly, highly recommended!
