Cabanna Restaurant — Restaurant in Baja California

I reserved a table to celebrate my fiancée's birthday. I mentioned in the message that if possible, we would appreciate a nice table for the occasion. We understand it's not always possible, but for a reservation, I would have expected a better table than one outside when the weather was freezing. The waiter, Cecilio, was quite curt. We ordered a salmon tiradito, but he brought us a tuna one instead. The entire order was never written down, it was all from 'memory,' but as expected, it was all wrong. When we mentioned that the tiradito was incorrect, he denied it, but we didn't want to make a scene so we ate it .

Regarding the drinks, we ordered a frozen margarita, but were given a mango gelato in a glass instead ( no hints of tequila at all, if it had, we did not taste any ) . When we mentioned that we didn't like it and asked if it could be taken back, he said, 'You didn't like it? I mentioned that the 'frozen margarita' was not good.' Nowhere before had we been served a gelato when ordering a frozen margarita, but I understand that anyone can make a mistake not knowing the difference between a frozen margarita and a gelato. The food was average, something that could be found similarly priced but better in other places.

I mentioned in the OpenTable comments that if they could sing 'happy birthday' to my fiancée with a dessert (obviously paid for), but obviously, that detail didn't happen. We decided to go to a place we all knew from before, we wanted to review all together and share our opinions. I got to the restaurant at 5:30 and I was supposed to get there at 5:00 , I ordered a green aguachile and it was so good, the quality was perfect, it was a little too spicy for me but it’s ok cause I do like spicy food. The price was $219 , I believe it’s not that expensive in comparison to other restaurants and because it was good so it’s worth it. I ordered two drinks, first I ordered a piñada and to be honest I didn’t really like it because it had too much albahaca but that’s my personal preference. Then I ordered a tamarindo drink and it tasted so fresh and sweet, it was so good. The specialty in Cabanna is the seafood but in comparison to other restaurants everything here is good. The quality was wonderful and the portions were in off. The desserts are the best thing in the restaurants, I recommend the dulce de leche. The waiter was kind and recommended some food. On Monday we went to Cabanna, I had already gone to this beautiful restaurant, but I wanted to try new dishes so we all made the decision to go there. By the time I was there I thought they were already done eating. The place is beautiful, it has a fancy atmosphere but it is kind of casual, the service is awesome, the ladies at the entry of the restaurant were a little serious, they gave us our table and the waiter was also very nice with us, he asked us a lot if we were fine, or if we wanted to order anything else. On the other side, the food was delicious, I order a green fettuccine with shrimps and it was so good, it is a very big portion so I didnt finished it, I also order a piñada, it is a drink with coconut cream and pineapple, it was so good, it also had little explosive pearls so it was fun to drink. Finally, the prices, in my opinion the restaurant is not that expensive, we ordered good quality food so the prices were totally fine.
