It was expensive, but I thought the food was very good, as was the service. The place also has a very nice ambiance. The only negative thing I would say is when we first got there and were seated, the waiter made a wine suggestion to us and brought the bottle over to our table (Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet). When we passed on the bottle, the waiter brought over another bottle he was recommending (Alion Tinta Fina). Luckily by the time the waiter had returned with the second bottle, we had time to check the menu via the QR code at the table, and learned that the first bottle would have cost us, $4200 pesos (currently $233 USD) and the second bottle he was suggesting would have cost us $4900 pesos (currently $272 USD). So do yourself a favor and check the prices of what's being recommended before you accept their suggestions. We eventually settled on individual glasses of wine, the Lomita cabernet, which were $270 pesos a glass (currently $15 USD). Aside from that, we all felt our meals were very tasty and well portioned. And again, aside from the waiter initially trying to get us to unknowingly buy the expensive wine, we all felt that the service was otherwise impeccable. Our total bill for the table of 4 persons with 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 4 entrees, 5 glasses of wine and 2 mixed drinks cost...
Read moreVery nice Argentinan Steakhouse, all food was very tasty and well presented, steak was cooked exactly as I like it, good size portions, we ordered coffee Americano Expresso, the machine was not working so we settle for regular coffee, not that good as we enjoy Expresso better. We had a reservation and got seated right away, had to use valet parking because there is no public parking around this busy street. Back to the restaurant, I dropped to four stars due to the background music, did not match the place, at this time they played what sounded like blues or jazz too loud to enjoy our food. We mentioned this to the waiter and by the time we were leaving music switched to something different... We probably don't go back to this restaurant in the...
Read moreI had an absolutely amazing dining experience at El Campero! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was nothing short of spectacular—my filet mignon on a flat hot iron was cooked to perfection, the spinach cream was incredibly flavorful, and the Napolitano flan was the perfect sweet finish to an unforgettable meal.
A special thank you to Carlos Diaz, my server, who went above and beyond to make my evening special. His professionalism, kindness, and expert recommendations truly enhanced my experience. He made me feel welcomed and helped me choose the perfect meal.
I highly recommend El Campero to anyone looking for an outstanding steakhouse experience in Tijuana....
