We had a very bad experience three visits in a row. Our last visit was deplorable for a couple reasons:

Kitchen Closed.

We waited to be seated for 45 minutes, after waiting to order and after being seated our waiter approached the table and informed us the Kitchen was “closed”.

I asked for a manager, and only after speaking to the manager we were able to order….what a shock after waiting 45 minutes.

Taco was literally a piece of fat.

We ordered several tacos, one taco was filet mignon beef, this taco literally had a piece in the taco of entirely of fat, instead of beef it was a large piece of lard…I thought at first it was a deliberate insult from the kitchen staff!

Beer, ordered three times.

The waiter continued to forget the beers we ordered, we had to remind him three times. It was deplorable and unacceptable.

Dollar conversion unacceptable.

So the standard dollar to peso conversion was off By 15-25 pesos, but they delivered the change in not dollars which they always do, but the waiter delivered pesos!

Considering we have been at this restaurant 12 times, we never have received change in pesos.. consequently the manager resolved the issue with much explanations, another nightmare.

Overall it’s gotten bad to worse

The food and the service has gotten progressively worse over time. Our last three visits have been unacceptable standards of food and atrocious service levels.

Because of the above reasons, we have stayed away from this...

We went in for a late dinner, hoping to get some good food and drinks, since it was the only restaurant open at that hour. We had a mix experience at the restaurant. Our drinks were okay but I had ordered a drink that was recommended by the busser, but it was not for my liking. After apologizing to the server, he took it back and I let him know I would rather have my original drink. He brought out the same drink two more times, and the last time I felt so uncomfortable that I took it. Our appetizers were delicious and we were looking forward to our entrees, however the meat in my dish was not cooked all the way and my husband's wasn't as tasty either. I let our server know about my dish and I told him I was no longer hungry at that point. He offered to provide me with a fully cooked dish and take it to go. We agreed. The server was very friendly and kind but unfortunately, the experience wasn't the same. When we opened the dish back at home, the dish was just the same as the first, not fully cooked. It was very disappointing for the main entrees to not be as delicious as the appetizers we had received. Apart from that, none of the managers that were walking around the restaurant came over to apologize for the mistakes, which was also...

1st time visiting this place and it will for sure be the last. I actually even regret even going this 1 time. Got there asked for a table for 2, was seated and I was actually excited since I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for about a year plus I was starving. They offered us the drink menu, we ordered a drink. The waiter went to place the order. He came back w the food menu, and this is where the issue started. I started to look at the menu and he asked if I was ready to order. I asked him to give me a minute since he had just handed me the menu. He stepped away for like 5 seconds. Then asked again if we where ready. I said no, please give me a minute. He then said we had to order now since they where going to close . I told him I can't order if I don't look at the menu. I said well we are closing. Very dissatisfied with the service. The drink was average. The only plus side was...

We went here to celebrate a special occasion a while back and I have to say it was an extremely disappointing experience. Service was mediocre at best and the food was nothing to write home about. I ordered the Tostada La Ahogada for an appetizer which has shrimp, octopus and cucumbers as the main staples. The pulpo was super chewy and tough and there was little to no flavor. I ended up not eating most of it. I also ordered a steak for dinner. That was also tasteless and was over cooked given I had ordered it medium rare and it wasn’t even pink. The only good dish we had was the Aguachile de Camaron. The restaurant is located in an upscale mall with paid parking and the outdoor seating area is nice. Reservations are typically recommended on the weekends.

I believe Bodega 8 and Cabanna are kinda related... somehow, I enjoyed my dinner at Cabanna much more than my lunch at Bodega 8 :( I must not have picked a good day when I visited, dining area was hot and humid at lunch time, non stop hammering at the floor from the level below, the nice young man who waited our table was very pleasant but not attentive and experienced, tables are not very clean... and the food I ordered was just mediocre IMHO. There is a nice bar room off to the side, I might not return to the restaurant but the bar area is cute, I will definitely stop by if I am in the area!

Visited under the "new normal" rules and we had a very nice experience. Not too many places can implement the new sanitation rules and still keep their essence or at least make it a drag to visit. The hostess took our temperature, we applied gel, stepped into the sanitation mat. Our waiter was wearing a face mask, we had pleanty of empty space around us. Food was delicious, as expected, service was top tier. We enjoyed our family meal like old times, before the pandemic. Would recommend visiting now with post pandemic measuares.
