Beyond the location and free parking being nice points, forget this place unless you want to waste money and enjoy being talked to rudely. The hotel room is very dark even with all of the lights on. The water from the shower comes out as a slow sprinkle (not a rain shower!). DIrt on the floor, especially corners, I would expect such at a homless shelter. They give one exceptionally thin and stained towel per guest, no wash cloths (though hygine being a value, I probably would not have used it). I have never encountered ruder and non-service oriented staff in any business, let alone a hotel. After we paid cash for 2 nights upon check in and knowingly had to wait a half-hour for the room to be ready, when it came time to receive our key fob, a changeover in front counter staff resulted in some gruff clown (tall bearded guy) insisting that we only paid for one-night. He backed off after I showed him our receipt, without an apology of course. Was he going to keep the $ for himself??? We discovered the next day that this same character only programmed the fob to work the 1st night. When I apprached him the next day, he denied such and rudely said it was my fault because "no one" ever puts fobs in their wallet or purse because other credit cards will de program them -- something that has never happended to me over decades. A cafeteria adult busboy was extremely rude with a lecture to my wife at sit down while I was filling my plate that we should not waste food that comes with the free breakfast. He and another adult busboy incorreclty assumed we do not speak Spanish as we heard them saying that they expected we were going to steal food from the breakfast buffet to eat for lunch. We also heard a busboy tell a cusotmer that he could not take a cup of coffee up to his room, rather he would have to go down the street to a convenience store for coffee in a paper cup. My question is who hired these people with inept social skills? We will never again set foot in any Express Hotel. Marriott needs to drop them as a...
Read moreMy partner and I traveled to this hotel on Labor Day weekend 2024, for 1 night and had the following negative experiences. (1) Upon arriving in the parking lot, the parking lot attendant informed my partner and I that the parking lot was full, even though we had prepaid reservations. Upon driving in the lot and underground parking garage several times, we found a spot behind a vehicle that was then boxed in by our vehicle. The parking lot attendant stated that they would call our room and request us to come to the garage at any given time, if the vehicle in front of ours needed to move. (2) We arrived to the lobby around 10:00 pm and ended up in a line of people to check in. There was only one Receptionist. Although he was courteous and professional, there were too many people for just one employee to process in a reasonable time, as evidenced by us not receiving our room until around 11:30 pm. People were tired and frustrated, kids were crying, people were complaining, and some folks had to walk a block to the hotel, after parking on random streets where their cars were unsecure. (3) Our room wasn't the cleanest, as evidenced by sticky table tops, hair in the tub, stains on walls, and dirty furniture. (4) Continental breakfast was included in the price, but for the buffet, which only had beans, chicken stir fry, and an omelette, $30.00 seemed unreasonably priced. Additionally, there was not enough seating for guests. (5) Check out was too early (10:00 am), with no exceptions for a later check out. We chose this hotel because it has a pet friendly policy and we were traveling with our maltipoo. Although this hotel is a nice and modern building, it is seemingly managed extremely poorly. We definitely would have expected better from a Marriott Brand hotel and will not...
