Carl's Jr — Restaurant in Baja California

When abroad, to capitalize on the food joys of another country, it is important to seek food and culture indigenous to that country. Don't make the mistake of trying to find a restaurant similar to your favorite cafe back home. As the saying goes, live a little.

That being said, as I spend most of my time in Mexico, every once in a while I get the urge to have a taste of Americana. And there is no better example of pure Americana than Carl's Jr. (Hardee's in other parts of the US)

The Playas de Tijuana Carl's Jr. is exceptional. The food is fresh, mouthwatering, and of the highest quality. The restaurant and the facilities are always clean and well-attended. The staff are friendly and they even have a roving staff member who brings the food and anything else you need to your table.

I don't normally take the time to write a positive review about a franchise restaurant, as I think they get enough publicity. But this restaurant deserves the accolades. Kudos to the ownership, management, and...

This place is so inconsistent with their servings and presentation. Burgers are cold half the time. Order fries and the portions are always different, medium looks like a small. The drive through you get food that’s been sitting out. If you go inside you might get fresher food because most of the time they won’t serve what’s been sitting out since you are looking. But it’s probably the worst Carl’s Jr in Tijuana. I’ve been to the one at the end of Avenida Revolucion and their burgers are always tasty and fresh. Seems like the managers at the Playas location don’t care or don’t know how to manage. The staff is okay and friendly enough. This place is always my last option and that’s because mostly it convenient but I have to park and go inside to order due to the drive through is inconsistent with portions and quality. UPDATE** 2022 Carl's got their act together. I eat the chicken sandwiches, and the quinoa burger. The quality is good, not too crazy about the hamburgers, they still make me tired when i eat them, so I dont order them . ..........UPDATE: (april 2 2023) They NOW have an excellent ANGUS burger. I don't get tired and have to sleep after eating it. The burger is great, the workers are no so bright, but, in fast food what do you expect?? UPDATE.. the phone number listed here does not work,, today i got an average burger instead of the angus burger that i ordered. AND.. I got a chocolate milkshake with NO chocolate in it. They need supervision over there, perhaps confiscating a few cellphone would make the workers more alert. There have been a lot of mistakes in the last couple of months.. getting tired of not getting...
