EL PATIO TIJUANENSE — Restaurant in Baja California

update Still will not go upstairs, but downstairs... Still fun, and wish that they would organize a pool league/tournament. I would play for one of the other bars/restaurants, just to give them a chance.

It is also a 2-story, full service bar (full bar, up and down, with table seating). Sometimes they have live bands downstairs, but a jukebox both upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs has karaoke most days (though sometimes it's difficult to sing, because of "regulars" both the patio/restaurant and the balcony have great views of the Plaza.. There are pool tables on both floors. Eclectic mix of clientele, as they are welcoming to pretty much anyone, unless they are "trouble". The bartenders are great (for the most part), and can be a lot of fun, and go out of their way to make people feel welcome (Hector is my favorite, but they all are generally good people). Don't like one or two of the karaoke DJ's..same story, same people..same songs.. unless you are a tourist.. Still, all in...

Great low key bar. Has a ground floor bar and another upstairs that has more of a gay vibe. Drinks are cheap. Beers about $1.25 and the same for many mixed drinks. The large quart Caguama beers run a little over $2. Pool table downstairs. Karaoke upstairs and occasional drag shows on weekends. It can get crowded on weekends but plenty room available the remainder of the week. It's not a pretty, trendy place. Students and the working class predominate. This place is located in the zona centro in Tijuana right in plaza Santa Cecilia right where the giant arc is located it is one of several restaurants in the plaza where you can enjoy patio dining and while you're there you can also enjoy some of mexicos art culture I tried camarones a la diabla a very spicy shrimp platter which I recommend but they also have many food selections from seafood to enchiladas and other Mexican dishes...
