EL RANCHERO BAR — Restaurant in Baja California

Remember in Star Wars Episode IV when Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker went into the Cantina bar in Mos Eisley to go look for a pilot to take them to Alderaan and they found all these weird colorful creatures, aliens, and riff raff?  El Ranchero B?ar is exactly like that bar.  When it comes to the Ranchero bar everything you've heard about it is probably true and everything you've heard about it is probably false or maybe somewhat exaggerated.  It survived years of economic ups and downs in Mexico, a narco war, and pushing forward with no signs of stopping.  It had a somewhat eclectic crowd of people.  There is no exact age range but the young and old come here.  Locals do come here.  Though the "upper class" or fancy types come at 3am to afterparty.  Not everyone is best dressed, others are.  There are gay prostitutes on the outsides of the bar.  There are some working drag queen prostitutes.  Bad dancers, drunk people, maybe a little groping. When entering the establishment be prepared to order immeadiately as the waiters called the meseros will "pounce" on you asking for an order.  It is primarily dead during the day but still open.  The music is provided by a jukebox that operates on U.S. dollars.  Mostly during the day norteñas and rancheras will be played, although there are hits in English and Spanish in rap, disco, pop, oldies etc.  The juke boxes get turned off at night when the DJ comes and starts playing the all too common pop, Latin pop, cumbia, reggaeton, English language music, rap, and hip hop mixes common throughout all Mexican gay bars.  At like 1 or 2 am the DJ will play drunk ranchera songs tgat everyone sings along too, afterwards going back to the...

Dejaré mi experiencia aquí para que las mujeres tengan cuidado ⚠️ ya que no suelo concurrir por esos lugares pero fue un día especial el 28 de juni que fue el día de la marcha LGTB ,fuimos con la finalidad de apoyarlos terminamos en el ranchero en una mesa con nuestra cubeta y de repente llega un mesero en la madrugada diciendo que le devuelvamos sus cosas que era una camiseta se puso muy violento qué le pedimos al gerente que es un señor mayor que revisara las cámaras para que ese mesero nos dejara tranquilas Y todavía eso no fue suficiente decía que con la gente que habíamos ido pero nosotras veníamos solas junto con un primo tiene ciertas incapacidades y el gerente no hizo nada al respecto después de haberle enseñado las pruebas de las cámaras que nosotros no habíamos tomado nada para el mesero no fue suficiente para estarnos intimidando y amenazado que le devolvieron sus cosas y que forzosamente se las teníamos que pagar se miraba muy drogado incluso después de eso le pegó a mi amiga en la cara y nos quitó la cubeta y se la llevó la barra el gerente no hizo nada al respecto hasta se molestó con mi amiga que porque lo estaba tocando y mi amiga lo que quería es que pusiera orden y al final decidimos irnos y cuando bajamos para salir el mismo mesero que le había pegado junto con otro no nos quería dejar salir esto pasó en la madrugada en eso mi amiga les advierte que si no nos dejan salir íbamos a hablarle a la policía Y fue cuando salimos de ese miserable lugar es indignante que te echen a perder tu noche y que te priven de tu libertad cuando les estás consumiendo y salir golpeada por un drogadicto nosotras mismas nos Betamos de ese lugar está del miedo no hay derechos para nosotras las mujeres qué ironía ir apoyarlos y que te traten así quisiera decir el nombre del mesero pero no lo sabemos pero el gerente que es una persona de mayor edad sí lo sabe y nadie se metió a...

I came to this place knowing they had a show and the queens always give their all. That night, there was a Gloria Trevi queen doing the splits and dancing on the bar...in heels! She absolutely earned those dollars I was throwing! The wig was the star.

The drinks were good and fairly priced, and the bartender helping me that night was super nice. Overall, it was a great time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun, high-energy night out.
