I have never had such a bad experience with staff at a restaurant.

I ordered one hot chocolate drink and the gentleman brings me two. I asked him why the 2nd beverage he tells me I ordered two. I told him I did not order a 2nd beverage and he adamantly insists that I did. I informed him that he must have misheard me as he was working the blender to make the first beverage while trying to have a conversation with me about the menu at the same time. After distasteful back and forth, he says he will take back the drink after trying to push me to keep it while continuing to insist that I ordered it.

Normally I would have left a restaurant at this point (because the gentlemen made me feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome), but I had been here before and I really looked forward to coming back so I was willing to look past the really bad service I just recieved.

Moments later I inquire about ordering an agua fresca and the gentleman continues with his rant from before asking if I was sure I wanted the fruit beverage because I had ordered a 2nd chocolate beverage and changed my mind. I then informed him again that I did not order the 2nd beverage and that he must have misheard me. (It doesn't help to have the music playing loudly, running a blender, and trying to have a conversation with a client at the same time). He inisted that he knew "exactly what I had said/ordered." Then he started a rant about how my spanish was bad (I am a fluent Spanish speaker, my first language) and proceeded to educate me on how I need to learn how to order properly. I was in complete disbelief.

At this moment I decided enough is enough and I told the gentleman it will be best for me to leave. My appetite was gone, and my experience there ruined forever.

As I leave the gentleman asks why I am leaving and I explain to him why, and how he needs to re-evaluate his customer service (customer service is my work btw) and from there our interaction reached another level with the gentleman mentioning personal insults that need not to be repeated. I was amazed to see how out of touch he was with reality.

I was really disappointed because I have been here before and the food is really good, made from the heart by the chef, but today's service was way out of line, completely uncalled for, undeserving, and showed a lack of care and heart for people. I would hope that the gentleman would know better, but his actions today indicate otherwise.

This place makes good food, and it saddens me that I didn't get to enjoy it today. I wrote this long post because I deserve a SINCERE personal apology from the gentleman himself whenever he is ready for it. People have bad days, and make mistakes. I completely understand. We all have let outside influences get the best of us. Once I recieve a geniuine applogy I will gladly take this post down. If you still see this post, then know that I have not received an apology. I believe I am being quite reasonable and forgiving.

Wishing a great day to all who took the time to...

Very tasteful authentic Mexican traditional indigenous cuisine. They have a variety of hot chocolate drinks that are delicious. The food is prepared the old fashion way and they have some "delicacies" like crickets as part of the menu. The mole and tamales are the best. It's a very small place on Calle Segunda in Downtown Tijuana, if you blink you'll miss it. They only have a few tables and the kitchen closes at 6, so you won't be able to get a table after around 5:30. It's also a store with traditional food products for sale, like chocolate, spices, as well as a curios store. They're very cultural and artsy, so it seems they have small artistic events sometimes. Parking is challenging, you may have to walk a little bit from the pay lot. Prices are ok, a little high, but it's worth it. The service was outstanding and personalized. I can't...

I had a terrible experience coming to this Restaurant, and am surprised at all the good reviews this location is getting. When selecting my dish the waitress pretended several times not to hear me even though I clearly made an effort even speaking Spanish to her. The Mole dish I ordered tasted nothing like I was used to from other places in Mexico, it was stale and lacked flavor.

Additionally, they seemed to have just warmed it up because it wasn't even properly heated. When I complained the waitress rudely pointed out that they could not heat the dish for me as the kitchen was busy right now. I was left eating a luke warm dish that tasted badly. I recommend anyone visiting Tijuana avoid this place, it is overprized and you get no service in exchange. I will certainly not...

Delicious spot. It’s run by a husband and wife and they make all the food and drink. The hir cacao is a must try. They also made us enchiladas and tamales with mole. Everything was so tasty. They also made a kids plate for my son with tamales, cheese quesadilla and rice with corn without any spice on it. He loved everything (and he’s not really into cheese much, but ate a lot of his quesadilla). You can also shop around the place for little trinkets, including the pots and molinillos to make the cacao. All the while, the music and atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and calm. Very different from the outside. If you’re in the area, highly recommend you go. We ended up buying 4 huge tubs of cacao paste to go 🥰

This place is a hidden treasure in Downtown Tijuana. At first you may think it's a just a small coffee shop but once you are in, you get to see how the layout opens up to a very cute decorated eating area. The service was great, the owner had a staff issue but still managed to accommodate us (a family of 10). Food was amazing!!! Almost every single one of us ordered something different, and everything was delicious!
