Celebrated my wife’s birthday last night at Emma’s. Wow what an incredible menu and service. Started our evening with a couple of martini’s and absolutely loved them both for the flavor and temperature. Exceptional. Chose the betabel appetizer, bottle of petite Syrah and main course of ribs and New York steak. Again WOW. Ricardo served us with grace timeliness and manners. I could have given this rating 100 stars due to the bartender, waiter and chef. However, chose to only give this 4 stars due to one incredibly tacky issue, the manager Hugo. You see, we ordered the betabel and immediately returned it as it was acidic and nasty. Ricardo politely removed it from our table and retuned with grilled octopus which was delicious. Then the Hugo experience happened. He came to our table to ask if everything was okay and inquired as to why we returned the betabel. We explained that it tasted old and like rotten vinegar. He then told us vinegar never goes bad and tried to justify that we didn’t know what we were talking about. WHAT? You are going to tell your clients that a $9 dollar appetizer is good when both of us after tasting it almost spit it out? Unbelievable!! Now in reading this perhaps you think my wife and I are tacky or believe we are somehow special? Sorry, but the customer is always right if polite and honest not the rude manager who berated us over a salad that was simply rotten. If we return it will be for the waiter and all of the wonderful flavors this restaurant has to offer simply amazing. This wasn’t our first time there either and that’s why we returned because this experience is simply one of the best in the city. Before selecting this place again, I’ll be sure to ask who is the manager. For if it’s Hugo. FORGET IT! How one person that is suppose to have manners for the guest was so cheap and tacky. Hugo go home or that’s where we’ll stay rather than being told we don’t know what spoiled food taste like. Boooooooo! Thank you Ricardo and Emma. You’re...
Read moreThis little gem is inside The Grand Hotel in Tijuana and it's quickly become one of my favorite restaurants! The service is so impeccable it's basically indicative of days gone by because service this good doesn't exist anymore as far as I know. The ambiance of the dining room is classy, clean, comfortable, interesting and elegant. The noise levels are quiet and the temperature and music are perfect. Finally, the food is incredible! The French/Baia fusion can be a bit rich but the flavors are amazing, delicious, creative and always served piping hot or at the temperature it should be. It's obvious they use quality meats and ingredients and have created a simple yet complex and cohesive menu that I would order and try literally anything from. I would trust Emma to deliver a top notch experience for any special occasion and I...
