Julep Coffee — Restaurant in Baja California

This is my go-to coffee spot anytime I head down to Tj or before hitting up Ensenada. The ambience is quaint, decor is cute, and the space has a calm inviting vibe. Service is good-Each time I’ve been the baristas have been good, as any barista I’ve encountered elsewhere. I come for the coffee experience. I have to say the artisan syrups they make for their coffees are spot on. Not too sweet but just right. My iced coffee, iced tea and hot drink favs are the Espearancita Latte, I get mine with oat milk it never disappoints-think of it as if Pear Tarte Tartin was a drink this would be it. I visited my parents recently in Tijuana and we decided to get coffee before breakfast, so I took them to the charming coffee shop Julep. I follow Julep on Instagram and they seem to have a very nice coffee shop vibe. Julep has Jazz Nights, Sketch Art Night, and the occasional pop-up pizza day, and they also have a rotation of art work - All of the reasons I wanted to stop by and check this place out. Needless to say it did not disappoint. I walked in, we placed our orders, and the barista seeing my parents age - walked over to the record player and put on some hippie 70's music for them. Hace tiempo visité esta cafetería. Iba con la ilusión de conocer el café y su sabor. No sé si llamar afortunadamente/desafortunadamente me tocó una noche de Jazznight, (son todos los martes por la noche, al parecer). La barista que me atendió fue muy amable y carismática. Aún no llegaban los músicos, y comenzaba llegar gente e inclusive a llenarse el lugar. Para recalcar me pareció ver sólamente 1 persona dentro de la barra. La barista del lugar tenía demasiados pedidos entre bebidas, preparar comida, llevar bebidas/comida y atender/cobrar. Mire que entró una muchacha/señora con licor y al parecer es la dueña del lugar. Me tocó escuchar un poco la conversación, trato tan pésimo hacia su empleada; que quise compartir por aquí. No le ayudó en absolutamente en NADA, le gritaba cosas de la barra/bebidas a su barista enfrente de los clientes. Me acerqué a pagar mi cuenta en la barra, y es dónde me di cuenta; que la barista estaba trabajando mientras lloraba, me dio mucha tristeza ver eso, ya que la dueña del lugar se encontraba dentro la barra grabando videos y sentada platicando (que era mucho más importante que ayudar a su barista en la barra, lo mínimo si no tienes suficiente personal para eventos así). Era un evento de Jazz, una sola persona, en un lugar tan amplio y todavía que tu patrón llegue a gritarte y no ayudarte en nada, ¡NO SÉ VALE, QUÉ ASCO DE PATRONA DEL LUGAR! A las dos semanas volví al lugar, para ver si me encontraba con la chica de barra que me atendió ese martes; y ya no estaba, el barista me comentó: que había renunciado hace una semana.
