This quaint place in Zona Centro nailed it in all the right áreas: Friendly staff, clean establishment, private parking (6 spots available), dog friendly, and of course, DELICIOUS food. I was greeted by a nice lady upon arriving at their entrance who was ready to take my temperature. However, I kindly turned it down as I opted to instead sit outside in their patio area which is adjacent to their parking lot. Immediately, I was served a bolillo (very soft salted white bread) and a small dish of red salsa which I thought was awesome (instead of the typical tortilla chips). I ordered their machaca with chilaquiles, beans, and a side of avocado. The portions are GENEROUSLY served. Their machaca was delicious; not too dry but not too watery either and the perfect amount of spicy. Their chilaquiles? PERFECT just the way I like them with a little bit of a soft crunch. To top it off, my server came with a small bowl of water for my chihuahua🐾. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely be coming...
Read moreMy favorable rating for this restaurant has nothing to do with the food there. Because I didn't eat there. This review is all about the people who work there. I had the misfortune to trip over a chunk of broken sidewalk right in front of their window. I hit my forehead and immediately started bleeding. And immediately several staff members were beside me, doing everything they could to give me aide, bringing cloths and paper towels to stop the bleeding, a bag of ice for the swelling, setting up a chair in the shade, and all of this was happening in full view of the people inside eating. But the staff did not seem to be concerned about that. They were only concerned about my well-being. So I give the staff five stars, ten stars for showing me so much concern. When I'm better I'm going back to the Plato de Oro, and eat something, and show my gratitude for all their kindness...
Read moreExcellent breakfast! This place was recommended to my wife and I for breakfast. We were skeptical before getting there. We had s short wait and the place was very busy. A good sign. The menu had lots of great choices and many of the dishes came with Chilaquiles, a favorite dish of mine. We ordered coffe, which was good, and were given a basket of Bolillos (bread). The Bolillos were really good - spongy soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Much better than anything you can get in the US. Our breakfast came out and I was pleasantly surprised. The Papas con Chorizo was very good. My wife had the Huevos Divorciados and they were excellent. Salsas were freshly made and were awesome tasting. A get pleasant experience! I will definitely come back and will recommend this...
