I literally don’t know why this place has such a high rating…I really don’t understand it. We ordered pork torta and maciza/surtida/cuerito/lengua tacos, and none of them were impressive. The torta was the most disappointing one - the carnitas had no flavor at all and tasted like plain boiled/pulled pork. The bread itself tasted really cheap. And why did they add mayonnaise into it!? It almost turned it into an American-style burger. The tacos were ok but not great. When they’re about to prepare our meals, they took all the ingredients right from the fridge but didn’t cook it long enough, so the meats were not hot at all when served. Also they didn’t fine-cut the meat well enough when cooking it, so some of the meats were still in big trunks, making it hard to swallow. What’s worse, it feels like it’s their soft opening day - all three staffs looked busy but inexperienced at the same time and kept failing to get things done in a timely manner. Everything was just so unorganized, making me want to jump in and help them. We sit down for like 10 min and the waitress never came to take our order. After finally placing the order we waited for more than 30 min and they hadn’t even started preparing our food yet, and we had to talk to them directly for a follow-up. Hygiene is another concern - none of them wore masks, and one of them even grabbed chopped onion/cilantro by hand and spread onto the food, wiped his own sweat, and did it all over again. Overall it was a very bad experience - both the food and the service. We tried a lot of Mexican foods in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum these days, and this place is definitely one of the most disappointing ones…it’s just sad.
Edit (to reply to the owner): If I do need to take a COVID test as you requested in the response, then it's because your staffs did not wear masks during the whole time which potentially impacted all the customers' health, not because I cannot sense the 'good taste of the food' as you 'think it is good.' Learn to be an adult and face the facts as well as improve the quality of your food and staffs instead of keeping lying to yourself. Using sarcasm here doens't help you at all. It is indeed my first time and only time visiting your restauarant that day, so I have literally no idea why you said that I've visited your restaurant before. And add to that, there's no way I'll visit it again due to the poor food/hygiene quality and bad response/make-up action to the customers, unless you sincerely promise that you will work on it, which you failed to do so. If you still insist that there's nothing wrong on your side and I'm just complaining for no reason, it's fine, but just know that only those willing to listen to the feedback and keep improving it will...

It's right outside of the touristy area(15 minute walk from Coco Bongo) so the prices are cheap and the food seemed very authentic.
Me and my group made this our main place to get food. Tacos were amazing, wings were amazing, and there was literally nothing that I ordered that I didn't like. The chicken they rotisserie daily is the same chicken they use on their menu items. I wouldn't be upset if they raised their prices.
I work in the food industry and I paid attention to their sanitary practices and I had no complaints. They constantly kept their area clean and they always washed their hands when handling different meats.
On the last day we stopped to get one more meal and we told them we were going back home in the morning. They asked us if there was any music we wanted them to play. We told them to play their favorite music and they turned it up and set the speaker on the bar for us.
Me and the main guy hardly understood each other but I would come back to Cancun just to see him specifically. He was a super nice guy and took his job seriously. Not to mention he took very well care of me every time I was there.
This is to the "main guy" and if you're reading this and know who you are I want you to know you were my favorite part of my vacation and I hope life...
Read moreThis place was just down the street from our hotel so we walked for dinner. It was very affordable. Literally half the price of the restaurants on site at the hotel. Although it was half the price, the quality was incredible. Great Mexican street food. We had a 5 taco combo (mix and match steak, chicken, and al pastor), potato wedges, and guacamole that came with chips. The al pastor tacos were some of the best my wife and I have had (the perfect crispiness in our opinion), the potato wedges were seasoned tastefully, and the guacamole seemed to be made fresh on the spot and was extremely flavorful as well. If this restaurant is within walking distance of your hotel or resort, I highly recommend going. They also serve breakfast, which is...
