A Gem in the Yucatán ! This review has been a long time coming as I've often thought how I gave my word that I would review this amazing restaurant - not only because I promised but the fact is , THIS fine establishment is a diamond in the rough. This Greek Girl was seeking out Greek food in Cancun and I was so fortunate to have the chance to find ILIOS ! From the outside , it appears to be nice yet ordinary…but once you enter, it’s nothing less than extraordinary …I must admit - if their menu was not posted outside , I would have overlooked this gem and continued to look for my Greek food fix somewhere else . From the decor , the music, the service . the attention to detail , the taste and quality of this delicious food. The Imam Bayildi was mouth watering ! Okay - so this particular dish isn’t Greek , it’s Turkish but…, Greeks have adopted this and made it “Greeksh” If you grew up in Greece , you know it , don’t deny it ! Anyway , It was better than my Aunt Virginias and no one could make it better , until now . (Sorry Thea) And you know I just HAD to try their Baklava , lol right ? I mean I can make some Baklava thanks to my Thea but oh my , their ILIOS Baklava was so delicious! And did I mention the presentation? Just look at the pictures ! As far as the ambience , I made my way around this restaurant and just appreciated the decor….and the inviting pier in the back with a spectacular view of the ocean . Overall, the quality of this establishment is excellent. The garçons and the manager that took care of my family made us feel like VIP’s . Thank you, Emanuelle- Toño !

Absolutely perfect. The food, the service, the staff, the atmosphere, the view, the gorgeous carvings. Everything! The apps we shared were the kalmata olives and spanakopita. For my main, I had the 'Meraki Spaghetti.' Our only little hiccup for our evening was of our own doing... and is now a funny story we have enjoyed telling about how dinner on our final day in Cancun drained every last bit of free-spending cash I had for the trip, though I had been hoping to have at least $500CAD leftover by the time we returned home. My handsome and wonderful husband did not know what wagyu steak was until after we left the restaurant, and I told him the bill was a little over 2 times what we expected it to be. I was unprepared since it was our last night in Cancun and my "vacation spending" account had only what we expected to pay for dinner plus cab fare and lunch for the airport the next day. I had to do a quick etransfer in order to settle the bill after my first attempt failed due to lack of funds. Haha, he thought he was ordering just a normal ribeye steak, and even commented after how it was the best steak he's ever had in his life and that he "can't even fathom how a piece of meat could taste so great." Now I joke about how when boxing day (big sales day for retail in Canada) comes, I might accidentally purchase some expensive shoes on his card instead of mine 🤣🤣 We will certainly return to this restaurant when we visit Cancun again...and he will make sure he doesn't make that same mistake again 😜 😆

*We loved our experience at ILios Greek Restaurant. This is our 3rd time here we enjoy coming back because of everything it has to offer. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The service was absolutely top-notch-our servers Romo and Jose were attentive without being intrusive and had an incredible knowledge of the menu. Every recommendation Romo & Jose made was perfect, from the fresh seafood platter to the melt-in-your-mouth steak. The environment & decor was stunning, with a beautiful blend of traditional Greek decor with modern elegance. Dim lighting, soft music, and a lively energy made it feel both cozy and festive. The entertainment added an extra spark to the evening-live music with bouzouki players, and at one point, the whole restaurant joined in on some traditional Greek dancing. It felt like a celebration! The staff especially Romo & Jose went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves and making the evening special by celebrating 2 birthdays in our groups. Plates were cleared promptly, drinks were always refilled. You can tell they genuinely care about providing an exceptional dining experience. Another highlight is the entertainment and being able to smash a plate Greek style. If you're looking for amazing food, impeccable service, and a beautiful atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit.

The food was amazing and the restaurant was gorgeous. However, there’s parts that totally spoiled our experience. The main being the music. To preface, my wife and I are 24 and enjoy a lively atmosphere in a restaurant with music. We brought my parents who are fairly young as well and aren’t picky people, but this experience was something else. We were the first there for dinner at 7 on a Wednesday night, the place was nearly empty and the music was BLASTING. Our party of 4 couldn’t hear each other speak. I asked the waiter if the music could be turned down for a bit but he laughed at me and essentially said “fat chance, deal with it.” We had to yell at each other or sit in complete silence. Tables next to use were visibly upset and I agreed to speak up for the surrounding tables but to no avail. We spent $350 on this dinner, and the food was fantastic, but we missed out on any other enjoyment. Would have loved to spend another few dinners here during our vacation here in Cancun, spend probably another $1,000, but we didn’t want another experience like this. BTW, it’s a Greek restaurant, if you want to play music, I’d suggest something that doesn’t sound like I’m in a club in Dubai.

Top-notch restaurant for a guaranteed ecstatic culinary experience. An extra bonus - enchanting performance of fire dancing, acrobatics, and bellydancing. Good choice for celebrating a special event as the staff brings the show to your table. Tasty drinks (and quite generous in size) served in artful vessels which are beautifully arranged with fruit and leaves. Aside from all of the spectacular flashy decor and performance, the food is phenomenal. Tip — the cauliflower is a surprising delight (plus your mom will be proud that you’re eating your vegetables). Great sauces to complement each dish. The seafood is amazing — everything we tasted was high quality food. My visit was during Valentine’s Day, so the rose was on the table for all couples. That was sweet! The desert was quite experiencing — I’m not quite sure how that worked but what I was was a live rose dipped into a cup with smoking liquid. Then the leaves were crumbled by hand onto the plate around the pastry. I’ll add the video if I can.

I went here for my birthday and it has to be the most well furnished restaurant I visited in a while. The service was good but what I found surprising was that the server didn't want me to pour water in the glass by myself. Also there needs to be clear communication. I asked the server if they bill for water, he said no and turns out I got charged. The day started with complementary hummus and pita bread. I ordered musaka which was good but very creamy. I could barely taste any ground beef or potatoes. The greek wedge potatoes were in good portions but lacked salt and pepper. In the end, I got surprised with a birthday cake which made my day considering I was travelling alone. There was a gentleman wearing white shirt and khaki trousers who I am assuming was the manager and he was very welcoming towards me. He put a bracelet on my hand which wishes good luck. The best part was the live performance and music. So if you are visiting Cancun, I would recommend to try this place.
