La Troje — Restaurant in Cancún

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we ate at the restaurant because it's across the street from Casa Ula, the Air B& B I rented. The food was amazing, but the service was sub-par. It was busy, so there was an extended wait for our food and drinks, which we didn't mind, but I felt the server was disrespectful.

My friend, who is Mexican, ordered for us, but the waiter refused to address and serve me directly. I asked for a fork, which she translated to him, but instead of handing it directly to me, he gave it to her. I assumed it was a fluke, but it happened again when I asked for change to cover my bill. I directly handed him 500 MX pesos, and she asked him to change it for me, which he did, but he gave the change to her rather than to me. It was clear that he did not want to do business with me, and there's no other way that I can take it other than disrespectfully.

This was our first time dining here while visiting Cancun. Don't be taken back by the looks. The service was maybe a bit off. But the food was spot on. From the appetizer to the main courses, the flavors were great. No veal Parm? Chicken & Salmon seem to be the preference here. But, if Italian food is what you want, you really can't go wrong here.

Este es un lugar de muchísimo tiempo en Cancún. El trato es muy amable, el lugar es de decoración estilo rústico y la atmósfera es agradable para comer o cenar.

Acudimos porque mi suegra tenía antojo de una ensalada, y la última vez que estuve ahí fue hace varios años, pero recordé que ese tipo de platillos estaban bien preparados, sin embargo, tenía tanta hambre que yo preferí pedir una pasta, al igual que mi esposa.

Mi elección fue una pasta con camarón a la diabla que de primera impresión tuvo una vista maravillosa, es una porción muy decente y bien presentada, sin embargo, el sabor no fue lo que yo hubiera esperado, estaba algo dulzona, sin que fuera mala. Mi esposa pidió una pasta de frutos del mar, y su impresión fue la misma; sin estar mal, no fue nada memorable.

Los precios son de medios a un poco elevados, sin embargo, por la calidad de los alimentos, coincidimos en que seguramente no regresaríamos muy pronto.

Tal vez solo fue el día, porque este es un lugar siempre lleno con gente local y como antes mencioné, ya es de bastante tradición, reconocido por la gente de Cancún.
