Very affordable (I paid $55 USD per night via Expedia), walkable, clean, & lovely staff. Easy to quickly grab a taxi (most of the time you’ll find one parked out front waiting). The restaurants in walking distance are fantastic! Our favorite dining spot was the area about a 7 minute walk away, across from the Chedraui supermarket - you’ll find a cluster of restaurants (Pueblito and the taqueria next to it were DELISH) and cart vendors - all are great! Amazing organic gelato spot (back across on the Chedraui side) we went to for after dinner dessert several times. Back to the hotel - staff was always kind & understanding. Google translator saved me a ton! Although most of the staff is bilingual. Rooms & hotel in general is very clean. Pool is small but nice. My only complaints are: 1) coffee: you have to go to the lobby cafe to buy coffee. I asked about getting the coffee packets for use in our room, since there is a small standard hotel coffee machine and coffee cups - the front desk staff said no you have to purchase from the cafe. It was very cheap though! Under $4 for 2 cups and I was able to get a refill free of charge. Only dairy milk options - we ran to the store and kept almond milk in our fridge. If you like breakfast, you’ll have to purchase it at this same cafe as well. At least 2 cafes are in walking distance though! As well as a couple of corner stores with food and coffee options. 2) the bed was incredibly HARD. But sleep-able. 3) the “laundry” amenity listed is misrepresented - it is actually a very pricey laundry service. Aquamatic lavanderia was a great laundry facility we ended up going to, about a 10 min Uber ride away. All in all, this was a very budget friendly stay and if you plan on staying busy during your time in Cancun and just need a place to sleep, I definitely...
Read moreThis hotel looked promising but did not deliver. We requested an early check-in—just two hours early—and even offered to pay an additional fee or upgrade to an available room. Without hesitation, the front desk immediately said, “no.” The receptionist explained that housekeeping was cleaning all the rooms and that there were no available rooms in the entire hotel. This was surprising, considering the parking lot was nearly empty and we saw very few guests throughout our stay.
After waiting, we finally checked in. The room was spacious, and the air conditioning worked well. Unfortunately, those were the only positives. Upon closer inspection, the room was dirty. The showerhead barely functioned, with water only dribbling out. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way. The internet did not work, leaving me without phone access. The beds were extremely hard, the couch was stained, and for three guests, there were only two bath towels. There was a coffee maker with two cups but no coffee provided. When I called the front desk, I was told coffee was not included. Why provide a coffee maker and cups but not coffee? That is a basic amenity in any hotel room. Furthermore, upon opening one of the cabinets the knob fell off in my hand.
The gym was also disappointing. It looked nothing like the photos. There was no cable machine, the weight bench seat fell off when I sat on it, the weights were rusty, and broken pieces of equipment were lying on the floor. Additionally, the gym did not open until 7:00 a.m. All staff had to do was unlock the door to a small, unused gym, yet when I asked to enter at 6:30 a.m. to work out before an early flight, the answer was another flat “no.”
Overall, the staff was unaccommodating, and the experience fell far short of...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 night and on our third night woke up in the middle of the night because we had BED BUGS!!! They had bitten us and we saw them crawling on the bed. We understand that bed bugs can happen. HOWEVER, the way we were treated was unacceptable. We went to the front desk immediately (at 4am) and they came upstairs, confirmed there was an infestation and gave us a new room. The next morning we talked to the manager and they accused us of bringing the bed bugs in. Further, they said they could pay for our laundry (which here in Mexico is $15 USD) and reimburse us for one night if we sign an agreement to not leave any reviews on any platforms. We were appalled by this behavior of the management and didn’t sign. We have never in our lives been treated this poorly! Bed bugs can happen in any hotel - but the way we were treated was unacceptable! DO NOT STAY HERE!||We also have evidence that we did not bring the bed bugs in. The infestation had adults, eggs, and young bed bugs. Bed bugs take 7 weeks to hatch so whenever there are young ones, it is a clear sign that the infestation has been there for at...
