Looking for that super cool, suavé, hidden gem of approachable sophisticated elegance in downtown near the tourist district? This is it. Lots of outdoor seating. Immaculately clean. Much of the waitstaff speaks English. The cocktails are impressive...coming from a guy who used to manage a speakeasy. If you go, I'd encourage you to avoid the temptation to have your "go to" drink and instead embrace the house selection. The food selection is varied so everyone should be able to find a new favorite. It has a romantic vibe without being a romantic restaurant. The music is played through a high quality stereo sound system, without being too loud. This creates a hip and cool vibe while lacking the typical annoyance. It's nicely balanced. There is a very small percentage of restaurants in this world where you could close your eyes and point to anything on the menu, and have complete faith that the chef would give you something you would absolutely love. Aupa Resto is one of those restaurants. My partner and I had six dishes as our own little tasting menu and every one of them was heaven. The service was top notch as well. New place in town with a spanish inspired cuisine. The place is in a old restored house in downtown with cozy interiors and comfortable seating. They have Spaniard classics like croquetas, patatas bravas and pulpo a la gallega. We also ordered a smoked jurel with pan tomate and a green rice with scallops. All the dishes are excellent executed and the crew is nice and efficient.
