average food. had lots of high expectations given the high ratings but it’s mostly fluff. I got the breaded fish tacos and I found them to be a little bland, they needed more kick. portion size is decent but not worth the price tag. also if you pay by card you have to pay a 5% service fee on top—just an fyi.
bathrooms are also clean, but while I was in the bathroom one of the associates was banging on the door while I was in the MIDDLE of using the bathroom. I quickly came out and just smiled and nodded at him (I was being friendly), and later he goes to the other server and was gossiping abt how I took “too long.” My table was nearby and I heard him say all of these things. quite a disrespectful way to treat your customers and then talking about them behind their backs. Also..just in general why are you banging on bathroom doors when they are CLEARLY in use..
while my server was nice, and not the gossiping one…it just left a sour taste in my mouth. planning to go back to isla mujeres, but will avoid this place at all costs. honestly, if you’re looking for more authentic food and are also looking to support a small/family owned restaurant, stay away from this area and stick to benito juarez/calle abasolo intersection. it’ll be cheaper and so much more delicious, not to mention the customer service is also a million...
Read moreI made a reservation well in advance for the air conditioned room to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We placed our order and was awaiting our food to arrive. Another customer ordered a drink that arrived with something atop that the waiter lit on fire. It filled the entire room with smoke. Myself having severe asthma, would have never expected this to be allowed in an enclosed space. Completely ruined our dinner and nearly sent me to the hospital. Needless to say, we had to immediately leave, just as our food arrived. We were still charged full price for a dining experience we did not receive. I was extremely dissatisfied with their lack of concern with the well being of a patron of their establishment. They packed up our food to go while I was gasping for air and using my rescue inhaler, in the unairconditioned side. By the time we reached the hotel it was all cold. I'm sad to say this ruined our anniversary night. Shame on the staff of Lola for allowing this and shame on them for lack of concern. Be wary of eating here if you have a similar condition. You will the charged full price because their concern is not for the customer, but rather for your money. I sincerely hope Lola takes my experience and learns from it I would truly hate for anyone else to experience what I just...
Read moreTHE BEST! Lola Valentina's is GREAT, We went twice. The first night, we just happened to wander into LV. I ordered the filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce. It was cooked perfectly. So tender I could have cut it with a fork. and the sauce just set my tastebuds off! It came with a mushroom and potato puree and a veg medley. The puree was a nice and tasty upgrade for a baked potato. My partner loved his filet as well. For dessert - TIramisu. We were full but so glad we went ahead and got it. The second night (a couple of days later), I just had to go back for my birthday. It was that good. I had the same thing as the first night. Friends we went with had the steaks and short ribs. Everyone was very happy with their selections. The restaurant itself is nice, fans everywhere keep you cool. If that won't do it for you, They have an air conditioned room as well. Live music was great! thought it would ruin dinner to hear a loud saxophone, but he was a great entertainer and played great music. Wish I had gotten his name... BTW - Luis was our server both nights and a great asset to Lola Valentina's. Ask for him if you want great service. Tell him you...
