Embarking on a culinary journey at Rooster in early December 2023 during what I perceive as the off-season revealed both highs and lows in this gastronomic adventure. The establishment, with its sparse yet cozy ambiance, embraced us with the comfort of air conditioning.
Our introduction to the menu, orchestrated through a friendly waiter armed with a QR code, initially intrigued. However, the allure waned when he confessed the menu wasn't updated—only to present us with freshly printed physical versions, signaling a mild discord in the seamless orchestration of the dining experience.
Opting for a Banana Almond Shake, a harmonious fusion on paper, alas, it arrived tepid, devoid of the expected coolness that would have elevated the experience. The Passion Fruit Smoothie, on the other hand, managed to salvage some grace for the beverage selections.
The breakfast expedition ventured into the territory of a rustic tart, a dish that arrived with a chill that transcended freshness but lacked the seasoning to awaken the taste buds. A tomato sauce, though commendable, stood lonely in its endeavor to inject flavor. The pastry's texture, or lack thereof, suggested a brief foray into the oven, missing the hallmark flakiness.
The pièce de résistance, the Portuguese eggs, proved a disheartening affair—devoid of flavor, a laborious consumption process, an unwarranted greasiness, and a subpar cheese that did little justice to its category.
For this less-than-pleasant breakfast symphony, a toll of 661 MXN was exacted. This critique isn't a harbinger of disdain but rather a sincere reflection of the missed opportunities at Rooster, inviting the discerning diner to weigh their options with a seasoned eye. In my journey as a connoisseur of both opulent and unpretentious establishments, Rooster left an indelible mark on the canvas of my culinary...
Read moreWe had there breakfast for couple days in a row everything was good But one day when we ordered the food had a bad aftertaste and sour taste that it was impossible to eat . After one bite we told to one of the waitresses, he said he will talk to the chef but was standing next to the restaurant talking no one . After he stands there for a while he came back and said he talked to the chef and that is okay . We told them we won’t it this dish any way because it’s obvious that something is wrong with it and they can take it . The manager was standing by the side watching the whole situation and after the waitress came back to the kitchen with the same dish to the kitchen he approached him to ask what wrong. Any way he never approached us to ask what was wrong not him and the chef They also charged us for this dish and for sure added how much we need to leave for a good or very good service on the receipt.
We won’t go back there for sure, even though all the other...
Read moreFood here is rancid! Ordered a salad and it came out warm. Where I live salads are served cold. Told the waiter to stick it in the freezer for 5 minutes and then bring it back to the table when it was cold. 5 minutes later the same warm salad came out. Needless to say I wasn't eating it as food served it incorrect temperatures can cause food poisoning and dysentery. Told the waiter since the salad wasn't cold I wasn't paying for it I wasn't eating it. Got in a bit of a spat with the unprofessional manager at this restaurant! At any rate I took the salad to go and when I got it back to my hotel room the nature of the salad was revealedThe low-life threatened to call the police on me if I didn't pay for the food that I absolutely refuse to eat. After I stuck the salad in my refrigerator at my hotel for an hour I took it out and everything was rotten on the inside of a salad had I eaten it I would have wound up in...
