BARBARELLA — Restaurant in Jalisco

This was the first time coming to Barbarella and I must say I was somewhat disappointed. So many things they are lacking and I guess they are trying to covering that with all the overload of their interior design. Starting from the service, I felt totally rushed by every single waiter. From asking us every other second if we have finally chosen something from the menu to almost running around because I guess they are trying to be efficient and fast (but that actually creates a disturbing and un-relaxed atmosphere). The cleaning service was spraying the floor with some product while we are eating and mopping tirelessly the floor while having dinner for me that's actually not a place I want to enjoy a nice dinner. The starter (carpaccio de betabel) was actually tasty but the main dish (the fish filet of the day with french fries and salad) was not good. The fish was massive and absolutely nothing special, the french fries they said will come with parmigiano and aioli (that was not the case) they were just simple plain french fries soaked in the juice of the fish total lacking of how to make a plate looks nice. My friend ordered the tagliatelle donatela and they were not creamy at all. In the end they offered us a carrot cake (from the house) and asked us for our opinion. Unfortunately no one ever came back to actually ask for the opinion and that gave me a taste of they actually don't care!! They don't care if their food is good or if the service is great. The only thing they care is getting you out of the door as fast as possible to get more people in. If you are looking for a nice relaxed dinner I would not recommend going there. It's not worth they hype! And definitely overpriced for what the food...

I have to say, the restaurant is crowded but its the same people all night because the kitchen can't get it right. It took an hour just to get one dinner plate out while the other for my friend came 30 minutes later. The manager never came by to apologize and the waiters did a good job apologizing but no sign of leadership. Whomever is in charge tonight, the owners need to rethink that because I'm sure it been happening a lot. It was total chaos on the floor with everyone looking busy but food not getting served. Drinks were just juice and 4 cocktails later....not even a buzz. This place isn't going to last if they can't get good food because this place may look like it's hip but it's not. Lots to work on here and there are other restaurants in the vicinity that have better service and tastier food. This place on my list is a bomb. All show and nothing...

Primera vez en este restaurante , pero lamentablemente no volvería , la atmósfera y diseño súper cool te manejan ese concepto de “high end” pero el SERVICIO QUE TUVIMOS NO FUE BUENO NI LA COMIDA. Realmente fue una experiencia que nos dejó mal sabor .

1 - El concepto es como “authentic Italian”con ingredientes importados , pero mi esposo es europeo ALÉRGICO DE MUERTE AL MAÍZ y no pudo comer casi nada de su menú porque el mesero preguntó a cocina y todo lo que le preguntábamos le ponían o aceite o algún ingrediente ligado al maíz lo cual en cocina italiana esto no pasa.

Mi esposo quería una pasta al pesto y el mesero nos dijo que los aderezos y el pesto estaba hechos con aceite de maíz ( O SEA QUE BAJAN COSTOS Y NO USAN ACEITE DE OLIVA) y no dió opciones de que en cocina nos hicieran un pesto con aceite de oliva. MAL MAL !

2- Realmente el SERVICIO DEL MESERO ESTUVO PÉSIMO, cero idea del rubro de hospitalidad , no conoce el menú , no sabe que ingredientes lleva, preguntaba a cocina y regresaba diciendo “ creo que tiene …” CERO PROFESIONAL, No comunicaba bien, nos ofreció un pulpo que supuestamente no llevaba maíz y cuando lo trajo y pedimos su confirmación dijo que estaba frito con aceite de maíz y las papas de acompañamiento también …tuvo a mi esposo 1.5 horas esperando por su comida , le ofreció un pescado equis y ni siquiera nos mencionó que tenían branzino como opción sin maíz.

Le solicité que nos enviara al manager y ni siquiera lo hizo tuve que pararme a buscarle …ah y el MANAGER también CERO EFICIENTE , escuchó mi molestia expuesta pero no dió soluciones ,no hizo nada y no fue bueno de volver a la mesa a tomar control de la situación. Hasta que vino el Capitán de cocina y por fin nos apoyó después de la NEGLIGENCIA de los otros elementos.

ORDENAMOS -Ravioles rellenos de pulpo y camarón y parecían unos dim sums y no tenían buen sabor estaban resecos, jamás había visto en restaurantes italianos unos ravioles así.

-La pizza diavola no era nada extraordinaria no me gustó el sabor ni la terminación de la masa que era ahogona cero crujiente.

La burrata no traía ni cama de arugula ni champiñones salteados ni las carnes frías como el menú lo especifica. Eran tomates y burrata súper simple.

El spaghetti Nero sabor ok .

-Las bebidas estuvieron perfectas.

-El tiramisú también estuvo bueno,pero fue lo único de todo lo que pedimos que realmente disfrutamos.

Es lamentable porque el vibe de lugar es increíble pero la comida y el servicio que obtuvimos no...
