A Hidden Gem in Puerto Vallarta – Bixabeel Kitchen 5 de Diciembre
Puerto Vallarta has always been a treasure trove of incredible dining experiences, but Bixabeel Kitchen 5 de Diciembre is truly something special. As someone who frequents this beautiful city and loves supporting local mom-and-pop establishments, discovering this warm and inviting restaurant has been a highlight of my trip.
From the moment you step in, you feel the personal care and passion of the owners. Their dedication to every detail shines through—from the inviting ambiance to the love poured into each dish. This hardworking family truly embodies the spirit of hospitality, and it’s reflected in the impeccable food they serve.
The meal began with a delightful bread plate paired with homemade herb butter. I started with the shrimp bisque—made with the freshest ingredients, perfectly balanced in flavor, and served with thoughtful presentation.
For my entrée, I chose the flank steak accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables. The steak, marinated for 24 hours, was so tender it could be cut with a fork. Every bite was flavorful and perfectly cooked, with each component on the plate complementing the other beautifully.
Dessert was a fried plantain drizzled with condensed milk and sprinkled with coconut—a simple yet extraordinary finale to an unforgettable meal.
Not only was the food top-tier, but the prices were also incredibly reasonable, making this one of the best dining experience I’ve ever had in Puerto Vallarta. I’ve already decided to return during this visit and will recommend it to everyone I know traveling to the area.

From the inviting atmosphere to the heavenly dishes, Bixabeel Kitchen captures the heart and soul of authentic, lovingly prepared cuisine. I started my day with their Avocado Toast, and let me just say—this was not your ordinary toast! Topped with perfectly ripe avocado, a drizzle of olive oil, and a sprinkle of herbs, it was as vibrant and fresh as a sunny morning in Vallarta. Each bite was a celebration of simplicity done impeccably well.
My friend, a connoisseur of Mexican classics, ordered the Chilaquiles Rojos con Huevos, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The crispy tortillas bathed in rich red salsa, paired with perfectly cooked eggs, delivered a harmony of flavors that could only come from a kitchen that truly knows and loves its craft.
What makes Bixabeel Kitchen truly special, beyond the incredible food, is the heart of the family that runs it. Read moreMy girlfriend and I had been meaning to try this place for a while, since we had heard some great reviews from friends. It absolutely did not disappoint. My girlfriend got the french toast and I got the croque madame. And they both were nothing short of amazing! The french toast was covered in fresh fruits and berries and was the perfect level of crispy outside with a soft inside. These were thick slices! My croque madam was probably the best I've ever had. The picture does not do it justice from right above because you can't see how thick it was! It was huge and I found myself needing to take home leftovers which is very rare for me! It was covered in bechamel with an egg, bits of spinach, bacon, tomato and other tasty things on top. I topped it with some of their homemade habanero sauce which wasn't just hot, it was very flavorful as well. I loved it, but be warned that it is fire and definitely not for everyone. The portions were huge and the prices were incredibly reasonable. As if this weren't enough, we met the owner, Manny, who was very friendly and certainly added to our experience by taking the time to chat with us and give us a bit of his and his wife's story. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet his wife, who is responsible for many of the dishes there, but we look forward to meeting her as well when we head back very soon. It was a nice atmosphere with options both for indoor and outdoor seating. My girlfriend and I both agree we've found our new favorite breakfast spot! I have lived in Puerto Vallarta for nearly 7 years, and I cannot stress enough how amazing this place is. If you are in the area, go! You will not be...
