No tengo las palabras españolas para descubrir la magia de Chía Fonda Vegana; disculpe para mí inglés. Vegan Mexican street-style food finds its ultimate expression at this welcoming, comfortable space. A chalkboard explains the offerings; crayons and paper placemats keep you busy till the food arrives. And what food! Tortas ahogadas as meaty and satisfying as the traditional version; tostadas topped with lentil, carrot and avocado ceviche -- and a hint of spice; hotdogs (made of carrot) topped with pickled cucumber and fried onions, just as toothsome and even more flavourful than the American classic. It was nice to find a real vegan restaurant, after a few days of explaining "vegan" in broken Spanish to frustrated waiters and just having to eat the one thing they would prepare for us. Even better, when we walked in, we were greeted by a man who spoke very good English and was able to help us make our choices. It doesn't look like much — the tables are handmade of cinder blocks and the dining area is small — but the people were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was very good! Mi experiencia fue muy agradable! Estaba de visita por primera vez en la ciudad de Guadalajara y me encanto visitar lugares que promuevan el veganismo y un estilo de vida ético-moral, sustentable, ecológico, saludable y no menos importante, delicioso, esto ultimo, por la comida que probé. Sobre la comida que ofrecen aquí, que puedo decir hubiera querido tener el tiempo de probar todo el menú, pero solo estuve unos días de visita en la ciudad. Pero en fin, tienen bastante variedad y sabores por lo que pude leer de en el menú, para los diferentes gustos. A mi se me hizo probar tres o cuatro cosas que me alegraron el paladar. Por ejemplo, me encanto poder irme de Guadalajara, no sin antes permitirme gracias a Chia la Fonda Vegana, probar las famosas tortas ahogadas :D (veganas, deliciosas y muy picosas), acompañada de una exquisita cerveza Artesanal (hecha localmente) que ofrecen y que les invito a deleitarse con su único sabor. También les recomiendo altamente las hamburguesas de champiñon porto bello empanizado, saben muy buenas, tanto que quisiera volver a comerme una :D Bruno un gusto conocerte y conocer tu restaurante.
