Diving into the Chicken Mole Enmolada at Fonda Cucon was nothing short of a culinary revelation. This dish, a harmonious blend of tender chicken enveloped in a rich, complex mole sauce, all wrapped within a soft, corn tortilla, was a standout experience. The mole, dark and intoxicatingly aromatic, offered layers of flavor - chocolatey, spicy, and slightly sweet, striking a perfect balance that is the hallmark of this traditional sauce. Each bite transported me deeper into the heart of Mexican cuisine, revealing the care, tradition, and skill that went into its preparation. Read moreSo glad we stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant, a hidden gem off the beaten path.
The family-owned, casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating operated on the front of the house. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. They should be selling that salsa. That's how good it is. We didn't want to keep eating and be full before our main meal. The food is fantastic and authentic. The Chicken Mole is amazing, perfectly balanced sweet, and spicy just like I want it. The Shrimp Enchilada is amazing. Fully loaded and they did not skimp on the flavor at all.
The service is excellent. The chef, a young man is very charming. Very accommodating. The young lady who was serving us spoke great English. It was a wonderful way to end our evening.
Do not miss this place if you are in PVR. You will...

From the incredible mole by chef Cruz (whose hometown is where mole comes from), to the handmade tortillas, to all fresh ingredients and super authentic flavors, to the hospitality of Gorge and his family, this place was one of the best I’ve tried in PV. I love a good taco but sometimes it’s nice to eat other real food from Mexico. And turns out they’ve only been open two months! Great addition to the food scene in old town imo. I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu.
Update, took my friend from home here and it was just as great the...
