Not sure what’s the hype of this place ! I was not very impressed about the food at all. When food taste to salty for me it means no taste. I order several dishes , I started with gyoza, very small and deep friend ? Gyoza are either steamed or pan fried on one side only ! The filling was very salty, couldn’t taste the shrimp or pork ! They serve it with soy sauce? A touch of vinegar would have made a big difference. Second dish fresh rice paper spring rolls , they did not have fresh herbs like mint inside or cucumber or carrots. The deeping sauce was horrible ! Maybe hoisin sauce ? With nuts on top ? It’s so easy to make a peanut sauce !!! A few basic ingredients that make these spring rolls stand out. I then order some Korean style kimchi , which was ok ! Very spicy and a bitter taste . The last dish I order was a ramen soup miso based. With pork belly. The pork was very tender and good. The noodles had a very good texture. The broth was very salty. Again when you add to mouth salt you can’t taste enything but the salt. I was not impressed with the food at all. The place’s very cool and has a nice ambiance. They have an outdoor Patio that looks very nice. The service was ok , the waitresses are very nice and sweet, just very busy . The maracuya lemonade with rosemary...
Read moreSuper duper tasty, and what a beautiful backyard area. We got an early table easily on a Saturday, really friendly and attentive waitstaff as well. Zero issues with any orders or delays, which some earlier reviews alluded to but I suspect that was hardly reflective of this place normally. In fact, I'd say everything came out TOO fast, we ordered as much as we could eat, but plates and bowls started piling up, would maybe be a good idea to check how fast multiple plates for 2 people come out, as it felt a little bit rushed (but I'm being real picky here, hardly a complaint).
The food itself was outstanding. The octopus and chashu stand out, with a special mention for the cucumber salad, especially the dressing. In fact, the vinegarette for the salad was a great dipping sauce for the gyōzas! Got 3 baby bowls, which was perfect for 2 people, including their pho. It's really tasty, but it did need a little zesting up with their homemade Sriracha, which was delightfully spicy and fresh. As for the ramen, we got shoyu and the tan-tan, and both were tasty, but I'm partial to the shoyu, it was light but not watery, and smooth but not oily, just right. Only have 2 days left in PV but I suspect we'll be back before we go,...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try Bonito Centro this evening. It was a beautiful evening weather wise and we wanted something a little different. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice with Shrimp and my wife had the noodles with chicken with an Rice ball. My wife dish arrived a few minutes before mine and the presentation was very nice. She enjoyed her noodles and chicken and the rice ball was interesting flavor. She liked it more than I did as I just tried a bite of the rice. When my fried rice with shrimp arrived I was expecting a more traditional dish. I was not a fan of the flavor of the rice but in all fairness I tried to order the lobster dumplings and they were out of that dish. Those that are wanting traditional fried rice will not be expecting what is served. The shrimp were tasty and cooked correctly but they did still have the tails attached which I didn't care for in this particular dish. The pinapple in the fried rice wasn't sweet as I expected and seemed a little bland tasting. Overall this wasn't the best meal I have had in Vallarta but I will give them another try on something different. The service was fine but the noise from the street was very loud. A little on the pricey side for what...
