We live full-time in Vallarta and have been to the museum in the past for various fundraising events. We’ve always enjoyed supporting the museum and all the amazing artists. BUT, I’m sad to say we had a bad experience recently. As a family of three, we stopped by to purchase something from the gift shop for my birthday. The museum was empty. The entrance fee was $40 for locals and $100 pesos for everyone else. We are teachers in Vallarta and showed them our temporary visas. The person at the gate said we needed an INE for the discount. We said we only wanted to purchase something from the gift shop (which is 1 meter from the check in desk). He just said “sorry.” Could we have paid $300 pesos for the three of us to shop there? Sure. Read moreGO TO THIS MUSEUM if you love art! It has amazing pieces and was one of my favourite experiences during my recent visit to Puerto Vallarta. We spent 1.5-2 hours viewing the art, reading the descriptions, and looking at the views of the surrounding neighbourhood from the high deck. The gentleman who seems to run the museum was friendly, informative, and had very cute dogs (Dolce and Gabbana). The museum is also a reasonable walk to Zona Romántica.
