Goa has a lot of potential to be a great restaurant. They offer a wide variety of Indian food and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. However, the food we ordered wasn't bad but it wasn't great either and the service left much to be desired.
My favorite dishes were the breads, we ordered naan, rooti and paratha. Although I must say the paratha was basically a rooti but since I liked the rooti that was fine by me. The daal was flavorful too. The butter chicken is okay but the sauce was a bit thin and didn't have the rich butter taste you would expect. We ordered chicken tika rice which I personally did not like - my sister did though. The server gave us a free dessert which was very good. The wine was not good.
The server was slow despite the fact there was only one other table and in the two hours we were there the server was both rude and kind. His attitude was standoffish and he ignored us more than once. Almost as if he was annoyed by our presence. Then he would approach us and try to make conversation. He made comments that were uncalled for such as "oh, you have been to India so must be very rich", or "you should go visit the Hindu temple, although Catholic people can be very close minded". In the end, he asked us to leave a review and then followed that by saying "and I will bring you a free dessert so you will write a review". So here it is, my...
Read moreThis place disappointed me. When I heard that I could find Indian food in Guadalajara, I got excited. But when I arrived to the restaurant, the service was poor. The waiter was rude and non-friendly. The rice is not basmati rice - it’s some thicker and shorter rice so it doesn’t soak up the sauces well. I told this to the waiter and he simply frowned and said, “well, that’s how we’ve always served it.”
Usually other Indian restaurants give you complimentary naan with your food. This place doesn’t. So I bought some only to be served by a tasteless and dry bread.
The dishes themselves are flavorless, which is the opposite from what an Indian dish should be. The lentils and the chickapeas were acidic which makes me think they were old and had already spoilt.
I made the mistake to order through Uber Eats thinking they were a different restaurant. So this second time, I had the same disappointing experience (including the spoiled chickapeas).
I really doubt this place puts much care and love into producing a quality product.
They sell fpod that is overpriced, flavorless, and spoilt.
Don’t waste your money here. Try other Indian spots in town - you may have...
Read moreI ordered a veg briyani, lamb briyani and the raita thru Uber eats today for dinner after a long day workout in the tennis court.
What I got was uncooked white rice which was cooked in the morning. The rice was not even split into pieces, it was like small balls. They added so much raw chilli powders along with other Indian spices, not even mixed/cooked. Nothing was cooked properly
My daughter was literally crying and not able to bear the burning raw chilli taste.
99% of customers who ordered these dishes might have felt the same experience.
We are paying good amount of money(more than 450 pesos) for your food, and it was not a free service. When a customer pay, he expect the same level of service.
Most of the customer do not tell their bad experience, but they will curse you silently and the curse will be with you and circles you forever.
As per Hindu dharma, It takes generations to clear/erase the sin. When someone coming hungry and expecting that they get a reasonable food, you just fool them with some junk, do you think you will escape from the karma.
I conveyed the same to the...
