UPDATING REVIEW 07/24/2019 and 07/15/2023 VISIT

Very good alfredo and ravioli sauce

The bolognese sauce was on point

The alfredo sauce was on point

Red wine was alright.

Clericot -- very good, highly recommended. A bit on the sweet side for me personally though.

Pizza - A

Clericot - A • A bit weak but fruity and not too sweet. Perfect. Could have had more alcohol

Mushroom risotto - A (updated 7/15/2023) flavorful. Rice cooked Al dente. Tip: order it to share with some other side dishes like some greens salad and a small protein like jamón serrano. It's a big dish too much to eat on its own. Also the flavor profile is one sided (salty savory). Need to balance with something acidic and maybe some protein.

We ordered the ravioli Bolognese and the procuitto with 4 cheeses. Very good. Good portions too. And the cocktails we're good too. The orange and tajin margarita especiallly was delicious. Some menu items are a little over priced, as other reviews mentioned. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is trying to be "higher end", but it's the little things that take away from achieving that. The kitchen staff sent out the main meal before the appetizer. The basil leaves on the caprese salad were bruised. The table bread was delivered after a long enough time where we wondered if they would give us bread at all. And we had to prepare our oil and vinegar ourselves. None of these individually are big complaints, but all together they took away from the experience being as good as it...

I generally do not give reviews unless there is a compelling reason. It’s a pleasant setting, but how this restaurant has positive reviews is puzzling. The salad was all wilted and soggy as if the lettuce and arugula were days old and tried to be brought back to life by drowning in dressing. The two slices of tomato were inedible and were only identifiable as a tomato by the shape. The pasta was tasteless (I mean tasteless) and so overcooked that it almost became one solid lump. Obviously, the cook does not understand al dente. Without exaggerating, it was clearly the worst “Italian” meal I have ever eaten. The service was slightly better although the wait staff were polite. Cold fresh Pasta served here for both plates. Fettuccine (with shrimp) and cannelloni with spinach both served cold - pre-made and barely warmed to cold in the centre. Service was pathetically inept. How this place scores high must be based on the pizza. We had a nice bottle of Spanish red which was the only thing we enjoyed about this place other than the nice informal dining room. The owner stopped by and asked about our meal - we sent the one dish to be warmed we assume in a microwave and it returned cold in the centre. We visit Guadalajara often but sure as heck won’t be back here.

Mia famiglia ed io avevamo aspettative più alte, il sapore e solo buono, speravamo qualcosa spettacolare dopo aver ascoltato sul ristorante al programma di radio Finestra italiana, ma in realtà siamo delusi, specialmente per i piatti principali. La cotoletta era dura come suola di scarpa ed abbiamo forti dubbi sull'autenticità del prodotto dato che sembrava più una semplice bistecca piegata. Quest'ultimo e molto triste dato che Piero alla radio aveva detto che una truffa comuni ai ristoranti italiani era vendere una carne alla fiorentina ma essendo veramente da solo una bistecca, ci sembra questo succede qui. Continuando colla "cotoletta" questa aveva molti errori di presentazione dato che era impanata, ma nuotava in salsa ¡Se fai qualcosa impanata è per avere croccanti, non per immergerla! Anche altro errore di presentazione è coprire le proteine con salsa, così ci senti che cercavano di nascondere più errori. Oggi ai ristorante ho chiesto un salmone piemontese, era, come avevo detto prima, da solo buono, ma avendo quasi tutti i guasti della carne, come avere il pesce annegato in salsa. Le salse si mostrano non sotto oppure su la proteina, invece da un lato. La cottura, sebbene non aveva asciugato il pesce, è stata di più, ma forse questo è stato in questa maniera dato che in Messico non è comune trovare pesci da solo scottati. L'ultimo commento sul salmone e che la pelle non è stata presentata alla vista del commensale, di nuovo credo volevano nascondere una preparazione cattiva. Le paste, beh, sono buone, nonostante niente che celebrare. Mi sembra che con tutto questo e chiaro che non abbiamo voglia di tornare, scusatemi, ma e la verità.
