We have been coming to pv for almost two decades and love trying more local (vs touristy) restaurants. We were referred here by a local friend. The food here was ok but not great at all. Think 5.5-6 out of 10. The service was meh (they took an order for snapper but had none and brought mahi mahi instead without mentioning it and once the food was down, never came back - we had to go hunt down the bill. They also had no salsa/pico. They ran out of this staple by 6:30 which we never experienced before. Drink wise they only have beer and soft drinks. And only seafood (fine for our group but some groups have that one or two people who won’t eat it and want chicken or beef. ). On a plus side... if you want to try stingray... it’s on the menu.

Our first time in PV in many years, we found this literal hole in the wall restaurant hidden from view, off the beaten parh. We're so glad we found it. The shrimp mojo de ajo was mouth watering. The portions were generous and the prices are designed for locals. You would pay 30 to 40 percent more in the Romantica zone. It's a mom and pop operation; the owner was a fisherman diver in his heyday and proudly exhibits his work in the decors. Service was prompt and friendly. You may wait a bit longer but it is well worth it. No AC, ceiling fans, and cash only. We'll definitely return to try the fish plates.

Locals seem to go there. Ingredients seem to have good quality. I didn’t care for the sauce in aguachile but the shrimp were large and fresh. The octopus was not bad either and comes with rice and veggies. The manta ray was an interesting try since I’ve never had it before but we didn’t like it (tastes like dried fish meat floss) - I’d recommend you order a taco with that rather than a big plate to ensure you like it. They forgot about one of the dishes we ordered until we paid. Portion is large. Overall it’s an ok spot. I wouldn’t say the food is amazing.

Let's start by saying that if you are looking for a restaurant that looks like a Canadian or an American restaurant this is not the place for you. This place looks like a Mexican restaurant, a cenaduria or a comida corrida that you see Mexicans frequenting. If you're looking for a place with good food at reasonable prices brought to your table quickly and efficiently, look no further. The menu isn't huge and varied but it does have a selection of foods done right. This is not a tourist trap were they ply you with 1 dollar drinks so you don't realize just how bad the food prices and quality are. This place is quite the opposite. If you're looking for a great meal, nothing more, nothing less, give it a try. I would give 5 stars if the place was a bit less Spartan and in a bit better location. There's got to be a...
