We stayed here for 8 consecutive nights, and Paola and her staff are amazing. Because this is a Meson (restaurant/bar/hotel) there are only a few rooms, but that's great because we were treated like family! The staff went above and beyond, kept the room very clean, and their authentic Spanish cuisine is amazing and "home cooked"/made fresh to order and reasonably priced (you have to try the paella and basa (bass))! It's right in the heart of downtown which is great for shopping and restaurants, there is so much within walking distance, including the town square and Lake Chapala. Can be a little noisy on the weekends and the beds are not crazy soft (most in Mexico aren't... we Americanos are spoiled with soft beds), but the warm treatment we received from everyone exceeded our expectations... we really felt like familia!. And they speak English as well as I do! We would go back and stay here again anytime! Muchas Gracias to Paola and her...

Paola is the owner/manager and is fluent in English as well as Spanish. Adrianna was friendly and helpful as well. Both were extremely competent and welcoming. Any down side? The beds were hard (by USA standards) and that seems to be a Mexico thing. This is a homey, personable specialty inn with a huge courtyard filled with trees and plants -- not a corporate hotel in a big city. Adjust your expectations accordingly and you'll be very happy. Next time we're here, I hope they have a room open....
