There are but a couple of Chinese food restaurants in the Lake Chapala area. This one is just a step above 'ok'. Wife had the egg foo yung, and I had the cashew chicken (lunch special size). Also, we shared egg rolls. The food was much different than in the US. Egg Foo Yung was 'bready', not terrible, just different... as were the egg rolls... just a bit different. The cashew chicken was pretty good, but the rice that came came with it was not very flavorful and very dry... did not eat it after a few bites. The service was fine, but both checks (4 of us) were wrong. Also, my cashew chicken did not arrive until everyone was nearly done with their meal. We got a to-go container of the egg drop soup (very good), but the plastic top of the styrofoam cup it came in melted into the soup on the way home and leaked into the doggy bag... what a mess. Although the cup cover melted into the soup, it all came out in one piece, so we hope the soup does not taste like plastic now. Anyway, we will probably go here again because we love Chinese food, but our expectations will...

We ordered from this place the other night and had a very good experience. We are coming from New York City and the food that we got here was very similar to New York style Chinese food. We were also very happy that they had vegan options! The only downside to our order was we ordered fried rice to go along with five other orders and we only received regular rice that had been exposed to a light oil. We only received one actual fried rice. Other than that it was a very good experience. We ordered 11 dishes in total and that came out to $1,895 pesos or approximately $110 at the time. We were shocked at how expensive all of this food was. This was more expensive than it would have cost us in New York City to order the same meal. That being said, we are in Mexico and we're able to order some very good Chinese food similar to what we would get at home and we were very happy...

I visited with my girlfriend on a Thursday night and we had the whole dining room to ourselves - very romantic! I wanted the Sesame Chicken but had a special request for them to prepare it spicier than normal, which they accommodated. It was amazing! Very fresh tasting, and extra crispy. We also ordered two vegetable egg rolls, which were presented very nicely on a special platter and included a very tasty sweet sauce on the side. My girlfriend had the Chicken with Black Bean Sauce (of which I got to taste the leftovers). Even a day later the veggies tasted fresh and the chicken/sauce was delicious.

I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet evening of amazing...

We heard that the food had improved here so we decided to give it a second chance as we were totally unimpressed the first time. This time I was pleasantly surprised as the won ton soup was the best I've ever had. It was full of fresh veggies and mushrooms and was not too salty. The egg rolls had a lovely spice and the sweet and sour sauce did not over power them. The beef brocolli had tender beef but unfortunately was extremely salty. The sweet and sour chicken was nice and if you want something extra hot, order the chilli sauce to add to your dish. We will be back to try again and find their best dish.

I just ordered General Tao Chicken, which was okay; the chicken fried rice was okay; the fried egg rolls were awful, tasting like they were fried in old reused oil and they were reaaallly greasy; the egg drop soup tasted also like they used old reused oil to prepare it, was not tasty at all. I can say that the staffer who took the order over the phone was very pleasant and the order di arrive in the time they said to expectit. I was disappointed in the food and it was way over priced for how poorly it tasted.
