This isn’t just dinner, it’s a full-on experience. I mean, where else are you casually sipping cocktails and get surprised by the cutest little piggy making an appearance? Yes, a real pig! It’s those unexpected little touches that make this spot unforgettable. It's also what makes this place so special. The moment you step inside, the ambiance wraps around you like a warm hug. It’s intimate, artsy, and full of soul. The walls are decked out with gorgeous murals that just pull you in. It’s giving cozy island charm with a touch of flair. It says come on in and have a seat. Now let’s talk food, because whew omg. The staff is super knowledgeable and so warm, like you’ve been coming there for years. They suggested the braised oxtail and whew, let me tell you, it was everything and then some. Imagine tender, flavorful, and just melts in your mouth. Here’s what we had, and every bite was a 10/10: Taqueno – good, crispy, chef’s kiss Braised oxtail – rich and comforting Hummus – creamy and seasoned to perfection and the star of the show, bold and unforgettable Mushroom Caribbean basket – our vegetarian friend was in paradise instantly with one bite Grilled lamb – juicy and packed with flavor Curry chicken – took me all the way back, like home-cooked Sunday dinner Oh and let’s not forget, the bartender knows what they’re doing! That Old Fashioned was smooth, bold, and hits just right. My friends said it was an old person's drink but it reminded me of old money. This is the kind of spot that works whether you’re rolling solo, having a family/friends dinner, or vibing with your boo. Just make sure to get a reservation because it’s an intimate space and it fills up quick. Oregano feels like a celebration of culture, flavor, and good energy. I’ll definitely be back. If you’re in Puerto Vallarta, this one is non-negotiable. ✅️Go for the piggy ✅️Go for the food ✅️Go for the vibe Just go

In a cozy neighborhood just off the main drag, Oregano Caribbean Cuisine is a gem that’s perfect if you’re looking to escape the hustle of downtown PV and enjoy a laid-back, local vibe. From the moment you walk in, the friendly, welcoming staff make you feel like part of the family—and that warmth carries throughout the entire experience. One of the most unique and charming aspects? The 20 pet Guinea pigs that call this place home (not all visit at the same time). It’s quirky, unexpected, and adds to the character of the restaurant in the best way. During my visit, Candella, was on hand, periodically checking in with guests in the dining room to ensure everyone was having a great time. That personal touch really set the tone for a memorable meal. I had the Jamaican-style wings and the oxtail, and both dishes were nothing short of phenomenal. Incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with authentic Caribbean flavor. Every bite felt like it had been crafted with care. A word to the wise: make a reservation. The place fills up fast, and for good reason. I was too full to even consider dessert—but that just gives me the perfect excuse to come back. Oregano Caribbean Cuisine is the kind of spot you’re glad to discover and eager to return to.

I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant because I reserve that for the best of the best; and Oregano is definitely one of those. With such a diverse & abundant culinary scene in Puerto Vallarta, it's hard to pick what you want to try and what should be left out. Given the ratings of this one & our desire to try something different, we opted to give it a try. It's a short taxi ride to Versailles, a centric, nice residential area close to most hotels. Their drinks are great & the food was EXCEPTIONAL (see my pics and descriptions). We ordered too much food in attempts to try a few things, but had the BEST leftovers later. The service was authentic, kind & the owner/Chef even came out to serve one of her specialties & made us feel at home. Their mascot, Tako stole the show hanging out & receiving local visitors just to pet him. This place is by far one of the most unique & best restaurants we've ever gone to, and worth every peso!! Google reviews don't allow for pic descriptions. Best foods/specialties: ANYTHING Braised Oxtail - we were skeptical at first but it was delicious! Their tostones (fried smashed plantains) and plantain baskets stufffed w/ shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the chicken tacos were great too! We LOVED it all!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the most amazing restaurant in Puerto Vallarta - Oregano. Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Versalles, this hidden gem truly exceeded all my expectations.

From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and friendliness by Chela, the owner of Oregano. Her dedication to her customers and staff was evident in every interaction. I was also delighted to discover that she has pet pigs, adding a unique touch to the already charming atmosphere.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my, where do I even begin? Oregano specializes in Caribbean cuisine and every dish is an absolute delight. The menu showcases a fusion of flavors, expertly combining traditional Caribbean ingredients with modern culinary techniques. Whether you're a seafood lover or a fan of other Caribbean classics, Oregano has something to satisfy every palate.

The attention to detail in each dish is truly remarkable. The presentation is exquisite, and the flavors are out of this world. From the first bite to the last, I was transported to a tropical paradise, savoring every mouthwatering moment.

What sets Oregano apart is the passion and dedication Chela pours into her restaurant. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every customer has an unforgettable dining experience. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal.

As I sat there, relishing in the culinary delights, I couldn't help but notice the lively atmosphere around me. It was clear that Oregano has built a loyal following of satisfied customers. The rave reviews and word-of-mouth recommendations speak volumes about the exceptional dining experience that awaits you at this extraordinary restaurant.

So, if you happen to find yourself in Puerto Vallarta, I highly recommend visiting Oregano. Immerse yourself in the flavors of the Caribbean, savor every bite, and don't forget to ask Chela about her adorable pet pigs. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Oregano, a delightful restaurant nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Versalles in Puerto Vallarta. This was my second visit, and I must say, it left an indelible impression on me. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance.

Let's talk about the star of the show - the mixologist extraordinaire, Sebastian. His talent for crafting exquisite cocktails is truly unparalleled. With every sip, I was transported to a realm of flavor and creativity. Sebastian's concoctions were the perfect harmony of unique ingredients, balanced proportions, and impeccable presentation. Each drink was a work of art, leaving me in awe of his skill and passion.

Of course, a delightful dining experience is not complete without exceptional food, and Oregano certainly delivered on that front. The menu boasted a delectable array of dishes, each bursting with flavor and prepared with utmost care. From the first bite to the last, I savored every morsel. The culinary team at Oregano truly knows how to elevate traditional flavors and create memorable dishes that satisfy even the most discerning palate.

Beyond the culinary delights, the attentiveness of the staff further enhanced my experience. Their genuine warmth and knowledge of the menu made me feel like a valued guest. The service was prompt, yet never intrusive, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the delightful ambiance of the restaurant.

In conclusion, Oregano is a hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta's Versalles neighborhood, and my second visit only solidified its place in my heart. With Sebastian's remarkable mixology skills and the outstanding culinary offerings, this restaurant truly stands out. Whether you're a local or a visitor, I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing the magic of Oregano...
