If you’re strolling down Calle 47 in Mérida and craving an authentic espresso experience, Baretto Espresso Bar is a must-visit. Nestled in the heart of the city’s vibrant culinary scene, this charming café offers a delightful escape with its warm ambiance and exceptional offerings.
The standout feature of Baretto is its delightful staff. Managed by two cheerful and welcoming young women, the café exudes a friendly atmosphere that makes every visit feel like a personal experience. Their genuine smiles and attentive service add a special touch to the already inviting environment.
A highlight of our visit was the delectable pastries. The pistachio and almond croissants were nothing short of spectacular—flaky, buttery, and filled with rich, nutty flavors that perfectly complemented the expertly brewed coffee. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality that goes into their baking.
Whether you’re in the mood for a quick espresso at the bar, a leisurely breakfast at one of their cozy tables, or a coffee to-go from the walk-up window, Baretto caters to all preferences. Their menu features a variety of coffee options, light bites, and pastries, all served with a side of warmth and hospitality.
Located just a block from Paseo de Montejo, Baretto is perfectly situated for a morning pick-me-up or a midday treat. With its delightful staff, exceptional pastries, and inviting atmosphere, it’s no wonder this café has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Fantastic food, great environment, and the service always went above and beyond including speaking English and patiently letting us stumble through practicing our Spanish. They even catered to our two year old brining him milk in an espresso cup to include him in the fun.
