Casa Remate — Restaurant in Mérida

One of our favorite restaurants and terraces in the city. We recommend often to clients and is one of our "go to" for food, service, atmosphere, and CONSISTENCY! We recently managed a client event for a wedding reception. From the time we contacted Dinora until the time the event was over, the communication was outstanding. Dinora, Chepo and the El Remate team worked with us on every single detail. They were available before, during, and after the event to help us, the clients, and for special requests. We could not have imagined a better location overlooking the Remate. It was magical, glorious, and memorable. The event was held on January 4th and our clients are still talking about it. Cocktails - perfectly made and served with a smile! Heavy hors d'oeuvres were presently beautifully - very appetizing and not one single morsel was left! They helped us coordinate the arrival of the mariachi, cake, and special parts of the event which we were so grateful for. I HIGHLY recommend El Remate for ANY occasion - whether it is a special night, casual cocktail, or a delicious meal. El Ramate has two different restaurants. One is on the rooftop and more seafood oriented and the other is first floor and a more traditional take on Mexican/Yucatan food. We ate on the rooftop at El Ramate. Restaurant is in a great location. The food and the presentation were exceptional. The Plató Terraza was incredible and extremely fresh. Everything we had was delicious and we might go back if time allows. On the service end things were different. Our server forgot an order and had to be reminded. He seemed to visit our table less and less the longer we were there. He went to check on a drink at the bar and never came back. Other servers seemed to be alert, present and attentive. Maybe we would have had a different experience with one of them.

Next night we ate downstairs. This food was incredible as well. While the menu is smaller, it was still difficult to choose as there are so many great options. Service was amazing and several people from the staff delivered food and drinks. Definitely worth checking...

Situated at the base of the main drag of Merida Central, El Remate's terrace restaurant has a view that will entertain regardless of the food, drink or service! Fortunately, all three are splendid here. The service is attentive and the drinks imaginative. Do ask for their specialty drinks: fun and delicious. I was in a whiskey mood and a Mexican Reves 7 year was recommended that I liked enough to buy a bottle to bring home. The grilled shrimp and whole fish are not to be missed.
