This was a recommendation based on an article I read from a columnist writing for international living magazine. And this experience didn't live up to her suggestion. To each is their own with personal taste. However, I'd never rave about coffee that tasted like instant. And I question whether she actually drank it herself. 🤔 This place also put a bad taste in both mine and my spouses mouths. Apart from the acidic coffee as for the man making our coffee kept chronically coughing and sneezing. I don't think any employee should go to work with the general public in any situation where they may be sick. It's just not sanitary for the sake and decency of your customers. Please stay home until you feel better. We liked the decor here in the sitting area, and my chocolate croissant was decent. But for the money we spent we did not feel this was worth it.

Tucked away on a charming side street just a block from the Merida English Library, this stylish and intimate coffee shop and bakery is a delightful retreat. The exterior’s soft pink facade exudes warmth, complemented by thoughtfully curated artwork inside. Freshly baked goods are prepared on-site, adding an inviting aroma to the serene atmosphere. The coffee, brewed from high-quality Mexican beans also available for purchase, is a standout feature. The staff, particularly the congenial and courteous gentleman at the counter, enhance the experience with their attentive service. Ideal for a quiet break, this spot offers a perfect blend of ambiance, quality, and charm.

Now that I'm leaving Mérida I will tell you how wonderful this place is. The best bakery in town, period. They open at 8 when they stock the shelves with freshly baked and still warm offerings. It is a small place and if you aren't there early you will not have a good selection to choose from since people like me are not waiting. The daily baked goods are different every day but you can count on the baguettes being there and gone quickly. I'm going to miss the peach danish rolls.

This place was such a gem when it first opened. Now it needs upkeep and improvement, both for the space and the products. Dusty floors, scuffed walls and roaches in the bathroom. The baked goods are brought from somewhere and sometimes are not fresh. What I see is a business that does not want to spend $200 on paint and repellent, and then you realize that other shortcuts are probably being taken. I hope they improve, this was a great addition to the neighborhood when it was in its heyday, and a lot more people...
