We have been staying at this hotel week and half - the staff is usually helpful and friendly , amenities like pool, gym , clean and well maintained although hotel's restaurant is open only until 3pm. Yesterday night however,we had extremely unpleasant incident at the reception desk of your hotel. Around 23:00 my wife and I asked to extend our stay at your hotel for 2 days more . Young man at the front desk ,whom we never saw before, said that it is "impossible" and did not make any effort to even try to enter our request into computer. We told him that we have been staying in this hotel already 2nd week and did extent our stay few time and never had any problems. He said that he cannot do it. When I asked him what his name is he refused to give me his name saying that he "does not have to give me his name". When I told him that such a front desk service is unacceptable he started to threatening me that he will call police. When I told him I will make a complaint about his disrespectful and rude attitude he said that foreigners like my frequently insult local people because they feel they can. I told him that such a statement constitute discrimination against a person of foreign origin. I also told him that if he discriminates and disrespects foreign clients then he should not be working in international institution like hotels. I told him that I will address this with the management of the hotel and that for his attitude and behavior he should quit or lose his job as a person unfit to deal with international clients. Next day I addressed the above situation with the lady at the front desk who extended our stay for additional 2 days. I also spoke with the manager of hotel who listen to our complaint but did not even offered one word of apology. We have been staying in this hotel almost 2 weeks and prior to this incident we have never had any problems with the staff who work here are usually very pleasant and helpful. Well I bought my boyfriend 4 christmas present the tickets for nye-dinner which was a total disapointment and we got sick... We arrived at 8:30; right when it began. One ticket was for 1100 pesos and the menú card seemed to be amazing: 1. The whole food; even turkey; gravy sauce and potatoe mash was cold! I even said that to the waitresses; but nothing changed... 2. The food was very! Mediocore... You would pay for a buffet like this in Germany! 250-300 pesos... The deserts were all instant powder deserts; there was no vino espumante; vino rose as said in the menús... And yeah I was asking twice the waitresses which answered me "no". Even for 12pm nye just Apple juice with gass or cidre? The sushi had a very low Quality even the mexican wallmart sushi which I ate a lot of times is loaaads better... no one wanted to eat that tortas de camarón; which was a undefinable mass...3. My boyfriend and me got really sick of that (diarhea); 7 days sick.... I felt so ashamed for my christmas present; and that the nye and last days of vacacions were ruined... and we came from Holbox just 4 nye to Mérida... Unfortunately there was a time difference which did us miss the bus and we had to take a taxi which was another 1500 pesos; to get to that crabby; cold dinner where we got sick from... I want my money back. And to declare because the management tries to subterfuge that circumstances: I have been already more than a half year; and for the 2nd time in México and spices are not the reason for getting (1 week) diarhea as a good restaurant and doctors should know. And the food wasn't spicy at all. I guess because everything was cold; standing for hours in the saloon; and/or contaminated with microorganismos. I suggest you guys; and I have been for couple of months living in México: Go to a good restaurant... For 2200 pesos you could have the best food; cocktails; deserts...
