Ok FYI I do have a degree in culinary arts & have a been in the food industry over 25 years mostly as a waiter. I’m not the type to be super picky but I also know when something is suppose to live up to its hype and this didn’t. I technically gave this place 3 stars but I deducted one which I’ll explain later. So they pride themselves on fine dining. Which their decor and employee dress code meets the standard, but the place setting was a bit lacking even with their personalized embroidered linens. The service was pretty impeccable despite my server not knowing what their cocktails were and not having any particular meal to suggest. Their prices were saddening (yes I’m all for spending some good $ on a meal). If you order a particular steak it does not come with any sides, each side cost extra. So I went with one of their featured dishes of steak & shrimp that came with curly fries (about like Arby’s) and some mixed veggies. The steak was cooked right but no seasoning, the veggies also cooked well but no seasoning, the shrimp were delicious. So my overall take would be something I’d be able to get @ Texas Roadhouse but half the price. So I was going to give it 3 stars until they brought me the bill and charged me $8 for bread that they brought out and set on my table even though I did ask for it. For that I took...
Read moreThe capital escaped the worst of the violence of the ten-year conflict of the Mexican Revolution. The most significant episode of this period for the city was the February 1913 la Decena Trágica ("The Ten Tragic Days"), when forces counter to the elected government of Francisco I. Madero staged a successful coup. The center of the city was subjected to artillery attacks from the army stronghold of the ciudadela or citadel, with significant civilian casualties and the undermining of confidence in the Madero government. Victoriano Huerta, chief general of the Federal Army, saw a chance to take power, forcing Madero and Pino Suarez to sign resignations. The two were murdered later while on their way to Lecumberri prison.[56] Huerta's ouster in July 1914 saw the entry of the armies of Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, but the city did not experience violence. Huerta had abandoned the capital and the conquering armies marched in. Venustiano Carranza's Constitutionalist faction ultimately prevailed in the revolutionary civil war and Carranza took up residence in the...
Read moreFood was just OK, for the price I expected a better meal. The caesars salad made at the table was delicious, but the steak was not seasoned at all and a little tough to cut and the grilled vegetables were not cooked or seasoned, almost as if they cleaned the grill with them and tossed them on the plate. Also, as others have mentioned, they charge a "cubierto" or cover (90) pesos), for eating there, like for the bread our waiter said, yet, for someone who spends $180 on a meal for 2 should have to pay for bread.
What disturbs me, is when we called back later to report a notebook left behind, even leaving the name of the waitress and all, they said it was not found. It was a totally useless disposable notebook to them, but valuable to my friend who had contacts and messages from recent trade show events. So, overall, I would not go there again.
I have had a much better dining experience at the Argentinian restaurants with more affordable pricing and better...
