Young Bin Kwan — Restaurant in Mexico City

I visited Young Bin Kwan on New Year’s Eve, as I was craving Korean food. We ordered the LA Galbi, Gyeranchim (Steamed Egg), Kimchi Bokkeumbap, and Sundubu.

While the LA Galbi arrived quickly, they left the raw meat on the table without providing a grill or any utensils to cook with. It took about 10 minutes to flag down a waiter to request the grill and cooking utensils. When they finally brought the grill, they handled the meat so roughly while setting it up that the raw meat marinade spilled all over the table. The LA Galbi itself was tasteless and extremely tough.

The Gyeranchim and Kimchi Bokkeumbap arrived a bit later. The Gyeranchim was overcooked to the point of being visibly discolored and tasted bitter.

We kept waiting for the Sundubu, which never arrived. It took yet another frustrating effort to flag down a waiter, only to find out they had forgotten our order. We then had to wait even longer for us to get our Sundubu.

I started eating at this restaurant a few yearsd ago, usualy for lunch, an always hada a good experiance. Do to Covid i did not go for the last couple of years.

2 weeks ago I went there for lunch and order the Marinated Short Ribs (Galbi), as always it was good. As any respected Korean food conoseur will recognis, the side dishes (Banchan) is a very impoprtant part of the mean. This where where extremly disapointing, except for the Kimchi wich was good.

So if you are looking for a well rounded Korean mean, with good Bancham, this is defenetly not the...

The food is good, waiter service is super, however, the issue is that the owners are ripping off customers and not following the law. In Mexico all restaurants must show the menu prices including VAT Value Added Tax or IVA as it's called in Mexico. They are not doing it. If you ask for an invoice, they will agree to issue it but will charge you 16% additional. Very lousy way to earn an extra money y...
