I arrived at 1:45 pm on Saturday March 29 without a reservation. I am a 70 year old presentable woman.we were a party of three girlfriends. The restaurant was totally empty and they said everything was reserved except for a table for 5. The maitre d finally gave me a table for four. My friends arrived at 2pm. The staff and our main server rushed us since before we sat down wanting to take our order for drinks. We ordered and during the whole meal the staff came by to rush us with their body language. But it was very obvious. I finished my drink and the server rushed to take my glass, they wanted to pack the leftover pizza. And then… the piece de resistance… happened when they brought me the bill without having asked for it and before ordering dessert and coffee. We are not alcohol drinkers, so we were just taking the normal time it takes to have a meal. When they brought the un requested bill I told the server “I’m not leaving until I’m finished and you can call the cops”. We left only a 10% tip. The hostess was not presentable her brassiere strap was evident in the middle of her back; very vulgar. I live a few blocks from the restaurant and it is or go to Italian eatery. I am angered about the treatment I received and about the staff having spoiled the...

After not finding the Lincoln Park Nonna restaurant open they recommended us this place. It looked like a good, welcoming place with a varied menu ... but the food? disappointing as well as the staff trait. Well cooked pasta but the tomato sauce lacked love, not bad but it was not great. The risotto with porcini mushrooms and prosecco ... I threw it, seasoned badly and mostly salty. Pizza was the best, and I think its oven is the only really advisable of "Belfiore" The staff do not care at all, two people standing in front of us and my glass would remain empty forever if I do not ask to pour more wine each time. The check appeared "descroche" item... I had never heard of it in Nonna, Cambalache, Mansión and other restaurants in the city, but the waiter claimed that "you do so at all the restaurants here" what?! I had to pay to drink the wine I brought myself! What year is this? Will...
Read moreThe service here was good, they had a lot of waiters but they were a bit aloof. The ambiance was quite calm for a Friday lunch and catered to an older crowd. The food was amazing from start to finish. The beef carpaccio was perfectly balanced. The four cheese pizza was delicious with hints of Gorgonzola that didn’t over power the other cheeses. Both pastas were delicious and decently portioned. Lastly the pear tart took the prize but the profiteroles were also really good. Would definitely come back if I want a nice quiet lunch to...
